The story is that one of the inmates tracked Wagner down in South America and killed him. Bastard had it coming.

I think you’ll enjoy it. It’s really well done, especially for a tv movie.
I’ve watched it and I first saw it in school while learning about the Holocaust and I’ve watched it on occasion. I’m never going to forget.

Great 2nd Amd film. Why? The escape is all about the unarmed prisoners vs the well armed SS and local militia guards. Most of the plot revolves around making knives in secret, and using them to take weapons from guards and from the armory. Without weapons, they were helpless slaves. With weapons, they were free, even if many of them were killed in the escape, they died free. And many did escape.
Great film, period.
