Rise and Shine! Homework on the blackboard, apples on my desk.
Ti Daughter in LA, can she find her way to San Jose? Perhaps by afternoon.
Being a sophist means one is not sophistic-ated.
Good morning - up early for an appointment.....wish I was still sleeping!
Thrasymachus, as a sophistic scholar, admires the rhetoric of today’s liberal politicians from his grave.
Mankind never learns.
Barry’s BS, like Bill’s, is sophistic
Both are liars but Bill’s more artistic
Parses meaning of “is”
Being glib? He’s a wiz
Bill and Barry—full of crap, egotistic
A+++ Excellent pair for that word. Hillary has neither the skill nor the apptitude for it. What difference does it make now?
True. A++
I just cleaned off my car from two days of snow...count yourself lucky.
LOL A++
Great!
I’m not going to “pun” today with this one.
I’m going to expound on the root of this word.
You know how liberals who are liberals because it makes them superior always use the word “sophisticated” to denote something that is superior to something “unsophisticated”?
Well, that’s probably absolutely true, in reality, because something they see as sophisticated is:
SOPHIST’ICATE, v.t.
1. To adulterate; to corrupt by something spurious or foreign; to pervert; as, to sophisticate nature, philosophy or the understanding.
2. To adulterate; to render spurious; as merchandise; as, to sophisticate wares or liquors. They purchase but sophisticated ware.
SOPHIST’ICATE, a. Adulterated; not pure; not genuine. So truth, when only one supplied the state, grew scarce and dear, and hey sophisticate.
It was beautiful here yesterday - nice but sunny - no humidity - just warm/cool enough to not need any sort of sweater or light jacket, but needed air conditioner in the car.
A+++ Liars. That’s what they are. Gruber is on top of the heap right now along with Obama and their ilk.
The boxer’s feint with the left jab was sophistic, that his opponent was wide open for the KO with a right cross ...
It is interesting to note that “sophisticated” actually began as a derogatory term meaning “made up” or artificially enhanced (Think of a sophisticated lady being one who was cleverly disguising her faults from the public) ...
But everybody knows Congress and their elite and enlightened staffers who read their biblically corrupt (er, corrupt) NYTimes are very Sophisticated and Superior, aren't they?
sorry for my absence, i have been having my dye job and now i have to do party preps : ) Glad your daughter and future SIL have made it back to CA>
short definition of a sophist: a person making a lie sound better than the truth.
The core political tactic of the left - sophistry.
The lie “it’s their fault” sounds much better than the truth “you need to get off your lazy ass”.
I once thought I was a sophisticated lady
until my warts began to show
a sophisticated woman would not wear
hip boots in the snow, nor
black mesh stockings to a hog calling contest
ergo, a sophist I must be
:-)
