PC is anti nature. It is the denial of truth.
You can only “list” examples of political correctness that make (in some way) sense to you, but increasingly PC is in the mind of perpetually aggrieved people who completely ignore reality and try to force those around them to walk on eggshells. It does take creativity to step outside of yourself and to try to see things from the perspective of others, that’s just being polite. I think though, that PC crosses back and forth between good manners and a sort of societal co-dependency. In extreme case it is exactly like being married to some sort of substance abuser or drunk with all the arbitrary rules and punishments for made up infractions.
Political correctness kills.
Last night there was a post here, an editorial from Dartmouth saying that the first amendment free speech should be curtailed and that more laws should be passed to restrict racist or hate speech.
Now this editorial.
Sounds like a pre-invasion bombardment has begun. Word must have gone out from party headquarters that this is their next move. They are beginning the softening up phase where we are just “discussing” it.
PC was invented by Marxists to destroy America by rotting it from within. That one fact alone should make anyone who is not a hardcore commie blatantly reject it along with all the diversity BS that goes with it.
For more information, bing Frankfurt school and cultural Marxism.
“Politically Correct” was a term coined by anti-statists in the late 80s or early 90s as a derisive way to describe statist liberals and their Marxist-Leninist code of conduct. It was meant to shame liberals.
The “politically correct” phenomenon boils down to a desire by the “elite” among us to enforce group-think (or, minimize individualism). It is intolerance in the name of tolerance.
When I was a young man, I understood that there would be people who had opinions (beliefs) different from my own, but had been taught to adopt the attitude of tolerance in the name of free speech.
We often heard people say “I vehemently disagree with what he said, but will defend with my life his right to say it”, or something similar. At the same time, we seemed to have the ability to discern when a “line” had been crossed, that we would not tolerate so easily (eg speech that attempted to incite to riot, or was libelous, etc).
Now, it has often become an attitude of judging one’s heart and eschewing tolerance for intolerance: “I vehemently disagree with what he said (believes), his heart is full of hate, and I will do what I can to punish him for saying (believing) it”.
This “politically correct” attitude has no place in a free and open society.
” Dr. Goncalo and his co-authors assigned 264 undergraduates to either single-gender or mixed-gender groups”
How did they determine whether the 264 undergraduates understood exactly what it means to be P.C. themselves and/or to have been negatively affected by the political correctness of others? They need to do this or something like it with people who have lived as adults through the past 35-40 years and not just a group of kids born after Operation Desert Storm (1991).
PC is a psychological prison, placing one under a constant threat, those who attempt to escape even temporally can find themselves in deep costly trouble if not in physical prison, mind control disguised as diversity.
It is only going to get worse, words like revolution in the context of freedom, or overthrow in the context of gov’t, can place one under intense scrutiny if not carefully crafted in such a manner as to provide a defense and establish reasonable doubt in an already corrupt legal system.
PC is the ruination of a free republic and must be defeated if restoration is to ever take place...IMO!
