The "riots" occurring tonight are minimal and nothing compared to what was seen this past summer in Ferguson. Most reporting done tonight has been laughable and inflammatory, IMO.
“I’ve heard pops! I heard pops shep. A hundred pops and they are returning fire!!”
Idiots
I’ve been watching Fox News nonstop since before the announcement was made, and his (Shep) first report on Times Square along with the provided video showed barely a hundred people in the area at that point in time of the broadcast.
What is your angle? I am asking a sincere question.
It’s duly noted that our media is shameful, got it.
Beyond that, what is your point in this vanity?
It seems you are indicating that the riots didn’t live up to the hype, which makes you sound a bit unhinged.
I thought Jarrett Maupin was going to stir up some trouble.
The U.N. can send them tents for the winter.
Honest to God, it’s so strange and disturbing!
I can happily state that it’s been a very good day for me when I’ve been labeled a “bit unhinged”!
It’s a statement. No need to psychoanalyze a particular vanity unless you have a significantly distressful case of OCD that should really be looked into! :)
Ok, you are just a joker - enjoy your fun times.
I’ll make a note to avoid you and your silly antics.
Stay safe
Add in the statements by idiot white liberals and, yes, we have a war zone on our hands. This is a disgusting piece of street theater.
Just heard on local media that because of many shots fire into the air, Lambert International Airport is now closed to all but emergency law enforcement flights!
“Are you serious? I am seeing buildings being burned to the ground, police cars being burned, stores being looted, and you are saying it’s all media overreaction?”
Um... yeah I’m inclined to agree. The media always gets a little ramped up about mayhem and violence but it seems Fox has been mostly reporting the facts as it unfolded. When you have people on the ground watching looting and businesses burning it’s no longer just “the media” - what do you expect them to do (but yeah, an element of this is egged on by all the media).
And they’ve pretty much identified these a-holes as opportunists and anarchists and joy-riders. So no big drama about it all being about the poor “gentle giant” (yeah, right) - I don’t think the woman running out of the liquor store with an armload of booze was thinking about poor Michael Brown. This is just dull brute stupidity and mayhem.
I hope the business owners leave and never return. It’s not as if the morons of Ferguson have jobs to worry about. They’re all collecting freebies from Obama.
That is the whole point of my post. Outrageous and over the top proclamations and “threats” for weeks in a blatant attempt to coerce the decision of the Grand Jury and this is all they have to show for it? (At this time, and admittedly, it is always possible it could get much worse)
Street Theater indeed!
Listening to the scanner it sounds like there is a crowd in Seattle. The cops are trying to block the on-ramps to I-5, and are just about to push the cops up Capital Hill.
Interesting listening to the cops tactics. Getting cops and bike police out of the way first, swinging them around, etc.
“If you start taking lots of rocks, back off and we’ll order the dispersal order again from the south.”
Specific? How about a U-City cop getting shot?
In Seattle, crowd got on road above cops - throwing cans of food on the cops.
Seattle? Not the least bit surprised.
Quiet where I am, too. Heard some police sirens about an hour and a half ago, but nothing I haven't heard any other weeknight. No gunfire, no hovering choppers with searchlights.
It hasn't been mentioned much, but there's a subtle undercurrent of "Oakland proud" that keeps things from getting too out of hand. Last time the riots were concentrated in Downtown, 14th and Telegraph. No one wants to foul their own nest.
And lots of anarchists up here to get the more peaceful protestors riled up.
Protestors now on the I-5 freeway. I wonder what happens if they get hit by a car?
In all honesty, it certainly can get worse in the near future, but after all of the proclamations we've been subjected to over the last several weeks from those who were attempting to influence the Grand Jury along with those who were truly angered at the situation, I was expecting much worse, by orders of magnitude, than what we've been witnessing tonight, and I apologize to anyone who feels that I am trivializing the events occurring this evening, as that is not my intention.
