I went to a match at Camp Perry once. I had to use one of their Garands. Somebody had messed up the sights before I got it. I wasn't even on the paper. I know I'm not that bad a shot. Had I been using my own gun, I'd have made a decent score. Entering the match qualified me to buy a CMP M1, but I decided I didn't want one. I prefer what I have.
