The Senate narrowly rejected legislation to authorize the Keystone XL pipeline on Tuesday, dealing a major blow to the oil industry and Louisiana Democrat Mary Landrieu, who has staked her political career on the outcome.
In 2015, it will pass and Obama will veto it.
Good. That’s another Senate seat lost to the liberal trash infesting the body politic.
If you take out increase in oil production in the US, GDP has not grown at all since Obama took office.
Lack of pipeline is putting a stain on other goods and commodities that need to be transported - corn, soy wheat, coal, because oil is taking alot of rail capacity. Transportation costs by truck is much more expensive creating inflation for consumers and unnecessary wear on the US highway system.
Democrats talk about infrastructure "investment" yet won't vote for new pipeline.
Oil production has not been detered by democrats not voting for more pipelines. All you have done is cause consumers to pay more for goods and gas by adding unnessary transportation costs to products.
Who voted yes and who voted no? All I see in every article is that failed 59-41. I want names.
So, Reid allows a rare vote on something, and the democrats filibuster it, standing in the way of something a large bipartisan majority supports.
It is nice that at the end, Reid does well in proving to America who are the true obstructionists.
