Schumer: Feds should cover Ebola costs
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) Sen. Charles Schumer says the federal government should reimburse New York City and Bellevue Hospital for costs related to Ebola.
The Democrat says Sunday that more than $20 million has been spent on tracking health professionals and others arriving from Ebola-stricken countries and treating Dr. Craig Spencer, a physician who recovered from the illness after receiving treatment at Bellevue.

What you mean is the taxpayer will pay.
well, I don’t know if I agree or disagree, but, I’m pretty sure that this is the first thing that schumer ever said that didn’t make me vomit in my mouth.
Anytime the “federal gov” is mentioned as paying for something, “taxpayer” should be inserted. You are correct.
I’m guessing these people would be a lot less willing to import diseases, illegals etc if they weren’t going to get federal money to pay for it.
I agree sort of, It should be PAID by the Individual Members of the ADMINISTRATION and CONGRESS for their willfull Failure to implement BORDER SECURITY.
As we work through day-to-day political issues while trying to keep our families’ heads above water, sometimes we forget how STRANGE the way the Democrats think about the world is.
Every imported Ebola case costs, and will cost, a fortune. Ceasing the importation of Ebola cases is trivially simple.
I posted here on August 8 that arrivals from Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Liberia should be stopped. This is simple, fundamental infectious disease epidemiology, and something that any normal person would, under normal conditions, agree with.
But conditions are not normal. The Congress and Executive Branch are being run by people who must be mentally ill, for we continue to process arrivals from the hot zone, and Biden was just sent out to say that EVERY HOSPITAL IN THE UNITED STATES must be prepared to receive cases.
This is suicidal, not in the sense that there will be ongoing transmission (except to doctors and nurses) but in the price tag that each impacted hospital must bear.
Is this some kind of plan?
Chuck should just sue the president for negligence.
The president refused to stop the import of the disease. He owns it.
Chucky you’ve been in federal office since 1981 and you still don’t know where federal money comes from, WTF?
No wonder we are being spent into oblivion, with stupid a-holes like this.
I thought we had Grubercare to pay for this.
Sorry Chuckie. Not “the Feds” (U.S. taxpayers). POLITICIANS should cover the Obola costs out of their own pocket!!!
He really believes it is monopoly money.
That’s the lib answer for everything, YOU PAY.
There isn’t ONE issue or problem that Chuck-U believes cannot be resolved by “Federal Funding” ...
