Cigarettes may be falling out of favor in high schools, but electronic cigarettes are taking their place, according to a new report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. A new survey found that although cigarette use in high schools declined from 24.3 percent in 2011 to 22.9 percent in 2013, the number of students who reported using an e-cigarette in the past 30 days tripled from 1.5 percent in 2011 to 4.5 percent in 2013.
E-cigarettes use a battery to turn liquid nicotine into vapor, and because they produce no smoke many teens seem to be looking at these devices as a safe form of smoking. Brian King, a senior scientific advisor with the CDCs Office on Smoking and Health, told Reuters that there is no safe form of smoking. Thats primarily because these products contain nicotine, he said. Aside from being highly addictive, nicotine can also have adverse health effects on the developing adolescent brain.

E-cigarettes are “nicer”, more civilized, and it is “cool” to smoke now, since the problem with second-hand smoke is vastly minimized. Not really smoking, doncha know, but this is a way to play “bad boy” without the coughing fits.
I think marijuana is perceived as the ‘cool’ thing to smoke in high school. The curriculum doesn’t bombard students about not smoking marijuana the way it does tobacco.
we push abortion on young girls, birth control, breast implants, botox injections, tanning booths, pot, and as many other drugs as you can get prescribed but darn tooting the elites will fight tooth and nail to protect the yutes from the horrors of electronic cigs.

Good! Speaking practically, they’re not going to quit smoking. The highest “nicotine liquid” I’ve heard of is 24% , the rest of the liquid is vegetable based flavorings. In traditional cigs, the most deadly culprits are tar, carbon monoxide, and carcagigans (sp?), also, it’s easier to quit cold turkey.
Some doctors I know suggest them to smokers who can’t quit tobacco. You can gradually move to weaker nicotine levels, while the taste remains constant.
Finally, some people need the simple manipulations of handling the cigarette, and that psychological crutch is still there. Almost no chance of fire hazards; no cigarette smell or second hand dangers, so you can vape indoors.
They’re probably bad, but so much better than regular cigarettes.
Of course, like the cereal company’s all campaigned against eggs, big tobacco is going to campaign against vaping.
It makes you look stupid puffing on one of those. You look like a child with a oral fixation.
