Florida State's Jameis Winston hearing delayed two weeks

A hearing to determine whether Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston violated Florida State University rules the night he was accused of rape has been delayed two weeks, FOX Sports has learned. The hearing had originally been scheduled for next week, but an attorney advising Winston asked for a delay in the proceedings and it was granted by the retired Florida Supreme Court judge who was brought in to hear the case. Major Harding, the former judge, pushed it back to Dec. 1 after a conference call Wednesday afternoon with representatives of both Winston and the woman who alleged that he raped her in December 2012, according to a source familiar with the case. The decision to push back the hearing means that it won’t occur until after the Seminoles conclude their regular season Nov. 29. And it’s possible that he won’t render a decision until after the national championship game on Jan. 12 – although for that to happen would require a number of things to occur.

Pretty interesting scenario as another delay could mean the decision of the hearing could occur after the National Championship game but if there is no further delay Winston could be expelled before the game. If there is a hearing Winston needs to assert his Fifth Amendment rights as anything he says could be used against him to file new charges as he is not protected by double jeopardy.

If I were on the committee, I would vote as if he is going to be expelled as it is his team that continues to delay the hearing.

If I was on the playoff selection committee, I would find an excuse to rank Florida State 5th or lower, no matter how well they play.

Would be sort of hard to leave out a team that hasn’t lost since 2012 and is the defending championship. Especially on old charges that have already been dropped legally.

"I would find an excuse to rank Florida State 5th or lower, no matter how well they play. "

You'd fit in well with the crowd in Ferguson, Mo. that has decided that the cop must be punished regardless of the outcome of his trial.

There are more people on the FSU team who are NOT Jameis Winston (all but one) who would have to suffer for his wrong-doings.

Jameis will get his come-uppings one way or another but there's no need to take out that many innocent people with him.

If I were an NFL GM, I would not touch Winston on draft day. He has “top ten all-time draft flop” written all over him.

Do you really think the other players are completely innocent in all this? Some of them know the truth about the alleged rape incident and aren’t talking — Winston’s attorney got them to sign affidavits prior to the police questioning them just to muck up the whole process.

Don’t be a fool in thinking Winston is the only one at FSU possibly doing harm. Fischer has his head in the sand, the AD and the administration don’t care, and the other players are along for the ride.

If the players really thought Winston would take the whole team down, maybe they’d come forward with the truth.

He’s got that wonderful combination of 1st round talent and undrafted free agent life style. Somebody will take him, but I don’t see him going before the 3rd round. Then he’ll either get his life together and be the steal of the draft, or he’ll Pacman Jones his way through multiple teams and Goodell’s office.

Again you are submitting conjecture that is not based on evidence.

Like the gang in Ferguson...you are saying things that are based on zero evidence....they MUST be guilty because "that's how people are".

" Do you really think the other players are completely innocent in all this?" What I think has zero relevance.

I offered you evidence — the affidavits the players signed that were written by Winston’s attorney. If you need a link, that’s an easy search.

You’re making a fool out of yourself trying to compare this to Ferguson.
