What firewall provisions do you recommend for someone who is on a Comcast modem/router?

Just the defaults that Apple provides. If you run into something that is blocked for a specific program, tell it to allow that access for that program you need. I have not found that necessary. Most applications take care of that for you.

Yes. It was the earlier versions of BASH that were at risk. The newer versions have been updated. That merely stands for UNIX™ Shell created original by Brian Fox and called Bourne Shell. This one should be 4.1 or 4.2.

This looks like a job for . . . Khan Academy. Wouldn’t it be great if we could pick up all that “couth” without straining our brains unnecessarily trying to read manuals??
