Well, he might have a point. I didn’t read the whole thing (and I noticed the left leaning racist crap in the first sentence), but I spent four years in the Corps, and even deployed to Beirut in 83. I am NOT a hero. Period. One does not achieve hero status by merely enlisting, and I notice that a lot of people refer to all who serve as heroes, and it just ain’t so.

In our milk-toast society, the closest thing to a hero the average citizen will ever encounter is someone willing to take up arms and face down a threat. That used to be just one check mark on the list of being an adulthood.

Every member of the armed services is due honor and respect unless he or she has demonstrated dishonorable behavior. It is not calling everyone in uniform a “hero”. But any man who has given his life for his country is a hero. It’s a shame this brat cannot tell the difference.
I’ve noticed that the immaturity of everyone but themselves seems to be the theme at Salon this week. Once again the left is attributing it’s losses to a temper tantrum by the voters. They can continue in that delusion with my blessings.
Ask a vet who the heros are. They will tell you the ones who died. Even Audie Murphy would have said that, and most likely did.
