Poor man. I’d do the same thing if it was happening to me and my kitty.

I’m not particularly a fan of cats, but I can sympathize with his desire to save his pet/companion, and I would have done the same if my dog was in peril in such a situation.
I hope he survives and is reunited with his cat.

The cat probably set the fire in the first place. It was all part of the plan.

I don’t blame him one bit. I would definitely attempt to save my precious Maine Coon cat. He is my baby.

I’m amazed that he was able to find his cat. They have a tendency of hiding in the strangest places.
Then again, I live in a house and not in an apartment.
Still, I’m amazed.
I pray they will be reunited quickly.

I hope he makes it through this ok. That is dedication to your pet.

FTA: Cat made it okay but not clear whether it was due to the man’s efforts or kitty fled to safety on its own. I can’t see risking myself like that.
Oh, for a dog, sure.
(I am being a stinker, LOL.)
I hope the guy recovers & he and his kitty are reunited.

I once knew a young woman who jumped from a boat to “save” her dog from drowning. She couldn’t get the dog back into the boat, and ended up drowning herself. The dog swam back to shore. Very sad.

Poor man. Bless his heart. Hope he’ll be ok.
I’d most likely do the same thing.
Glad kitty is ok.
