Democrats Finally Overplayed Their Hand
American Thinker ^ | November 7, 2014 | Patricia L. Dickson

Although it feels like it was a long time coming, the Democrats have finally gotten their just deserts, and I must admit that it is a guilty pleasure to witness their meltdown.

I always knew that their lies would one day backfire on them. I have gotten the most pleasure from witnessing my liberal co-workers (whom I have been fighting with on a daily basis for over a year) completely come unglued when I walked by their desk and showed them the U.S. House map that showed all of the seats (a sea of red) that Republicans won. It was pure gold! I have also been laughing uncontrollably when I replay the montage of liberal pundits’ and journalists’ meltdowns on election night.

Indeed—This is the GOP’s last chance to get it right. If they blow it, they’re done.

Blacks would be more at home with Tea Party types like me than Democrats or establishment Republicans. Democrats and establishment Republicans alike repeatedly slandered Tea Party folks with charges of racism - the Devil IS the accuser. The more we can do to fix the economy, break the government shackles on producers, drive the leftists out of education and fix it, the more opportunity and success they will have. I am all for it.

I am tired of giving handouts and being taxed to death to finance the Democrats’ unending fraud against black people. I want them taking advantage of real pathways to opportunity success . . . something Democrats have NEVER offered them. It is better for them and it is better for me. Blacks need to understand that there is nothing in it for folks like me for them to underachieve and be held back. I wish them all good, hard-earned success.

NELSON111:
That verse will fall on deaf ears here. I’ve posted it before...and pointed out that King David refused to rejoice in the stumbling of his adversaries. It wasn’t received well....even by people who claim to follow the scriptures.

That reminds me of another verse:

(2 Chronicles 7:14)
if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
What if our country's condition is due to Christians not acting like Christians?
How many of us [can] show our faith by our works?

NorthMountain:
Let us pray, ceaselessly, for the repentance, conversion, and salvation of all American, particularly that of our enemies.

An excellent and pro-active suggestion.

(James 6:16b-18)
The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective. Elijah was a human being like us, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. Then he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain and the earth yielded its harvest.

The Republican Congress should have two main goals:

1. Requirement for ID before you can vote.
2. Reigning in the MSM (propaganda arm of the DNC)

This was what the Fabian ‘s were concerned about when Obama was elected- that he’d tip their hand too fast.

There are two things you can always count one: One, that the Democrats will overplay their hand, and two, Republicans will always fold theirs.

YES, Let’s see some substance over form before we start any more happy dances. The election win celebration time needs to be enjoyed and the work needs to start and play through to results that can last.

Last as in will the pubbies have enough sense to be winners and not conciliators and to make real lasting change returning to a republic instead of a demoratic rabble. Not the three steps leftward of the Rats followed by a weak one step or no steps rightward process of the last 50 years.

However, I’ve seen far too much of the “This is the day when everything changed” hyperbole in my lifetime

Same here. Nothing changes over night. I’ve seen people extrapolate a single event or a point into a trend far too many times. It is no more valid in society than it is in math and science. It is possible that the point may be an inflection of change but it is not yet a trend.

You are probably right about the midfield but first we have to get there. I think the opposition has gotten well beyond our 40 yard marker.

When I feel safe getting bull dozer out of the barn to do some much needed erosion repair and prevention or building a new pond I’ll think we are close to shoving the opposition back far enough.

Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth...

I’m rejoicing that I may be less under their thumb. I hope they live a happy and prosperous life, but not at my expense.

Might want to put a lid on it until we see what they actually accomplish with their majority win.

Right there. King Obama and his communists machine have dug in deep with methods of installing their agenda by bypassing the Congress and the House. And the courts including the Superior Court are a joke. It is going to be hard to upset this method of Executive orders.

Easiest way to get a good argument going on FR is to ask "When did America change for the worse?".

IMO, it was Kennedy's assassination.

But, equally learned - or more learned - FReepers have cogently argued that it was when BO was elected. Or Bush. Or the Twin Towers. Or Clinton. Or the Hippie / Vietnam era. Or "1861 / 1865". Or it ended with FDR and the New Deal.

My far too labored point is that even with the advantage of history and hindsight, such things aren't obvious. :-)

No doubt this was a good week. The Dems advance was stopped in 2010, the Republicans fumbled in 2012, but we just got the ball back. Hopefully, we'll move it to midfield where it belongs.

Really hard to say when the decline began this time. We have had others but I think none so sour as this one. Kennedy paved the way for LBJ and so yes, probably. Social Security and the New Deal alone are probably not sufficient alone to the fall. Wilson and the 16th and 17th amendments certainly planted seeds and laid the foundation for loss of states rights and personal freedom. The payroll deduction of the Roosevelt era covered up the real cost of government from the sheeple. The application / misapplication of the 14th has to be about the stupidest thing we have ever sat by and allowed.... so we have probably been busy destroying the founding principles for 150 years. The last 50 and the last 6 of that have kicked it all off the cliff.

“2. Reigning in the MSM (propaganda arm of the DNC)”

I am hoping your not Referring to Regulations or Government forcing the demise or breakup of the Main Stream Media. I think we should practice what We preach, at lest what I preach, Freedom of the Press.

Now You and I both Know the Main Stream Media is a Propaganda machine but their Failure is on full display for All to see. The only thing I would agree on is No More Federal Funds what so ever especially any bail out money for the Media... But I do not what IRS(or any other department that should not exist / or even the few that should exist...) thuggery going after political enemy’s let them Fail on their Own, they are doing such a Fine Job as is. I also have No Problem Pointing out their Lies and Deceit... Now its time for some of the New Representatives to do so with the support of us and the other none main stream media, the New Media...

God Bless.

>>>What if our country's condition is due to Christians not acting like Christians?

I think that is exactly what is happening. I've pointed out here and in the pulpit that I think Obama is a judgment from God.

Romans 13:4 says"For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer." I think many times we look at this as its always a good force punishing evil. However, sometimes I think the ruler is a tool to punish evil...and sometimes the tool is bad. IOW-You get what you deserve.

Good Gracious! You read a lot into a few short words.

Where did I call for the Government breakup of the press?

There are many ways to call out the bias and hypocrisy of the "free and fair press." One simple method it turn the liberal tools against them. In short, go Alinsky on them.

One act of government that I would like to see is the breakup of the media monopolies. I don't think that one company should own print and broadcast media in the same market. I believe this was the law up until about 20 years ago. I am also not fond of one company owning numerous newspapers around the country. I think it is much better to have a diversity of owners, and a diversity of opinions. If one company were to control all media in a market, you get one opinion, whether it is considered "left" or "right." This is not good.
