Hopefully I-594 will be brought to court and found unconstitutional, but I doubt it.

I feel sorry for you. The "gunshow loophole" is a red herring for a lot more controls. I expect your law to be a model for the gun control groups to attempt in other states.

Yeah - it got sold as that, but it is SO much more. And in fact, you don’t need to do a background check to buy a gun at the gun show - but you DO need to complete a background check to become a member so you can go to the gunshow! (So yes - background checks ARE done. Just not for each and every gun.)

And it is already a felony to sell a gun to someone that isn’t supposed to own a gun.

But now it will also be a felony to loan (i.e. “transfer”) a gun to my son even if shooting together.

Like I reminded my kids today, democracy like this (with citizen sponsered bills) is like one sheep and two wolves voting on what is for dinner. (And super rich wolves in this case. Not sure where the NRA was on this one.)
