Make sure that chain doesn’t fall off!
Still shudder thinking of that doll.
OMG! My Mom made me stay up late to watch this with her when I was a teen. I’ve NEVER forgotten it. She also made me watch, ‘Helter Skelter’ with her, too. ‘Splains a LOT, don’t it? ;)
If I wasn’t all alone in this lonely, creepy farmhouse, int he middle of nowhere, next to a Graveyard ON Halloween, you BET I’d be watching this, LOL!
‘Burnt Offerings’ is another awesome, campy classic staring Karen Black. She was really something - kinda creepy and weird in her own right (as an actress).
“the Zuni Warrior Doll”
I think I saw about 5 minutes of that movie, and that was almost 30 years ago, but even based on that I can say it is truly terrifying.
Watching cable tv (COZI TV), they are showing the original Dracula, followed by The Bride of Frankenstein.
Oh, Jaysus! Ain’t NOBODY got time fo dat! *SHUDDER*
Sounds nice, but I’m waiting for the original “Bride of Frankenstein” at 9:30 on “Cozi” - one sequel that’s better than the initial in the series of Frankenstein movies - the 1935 Elsa Lancaster is lovely as Mary Shelly, not so much a bit later in the picture as the bride - contains a number of vignettes that Mel Brooks satirized later in his “Young Frankenstein”, including the iconic blind hermit in the woods bit - difficult not to laugh even as the monster is burning down the poor hermit’s house in this movie from flashbacks to Brooks’ picture - “Surprise - Cigars” - and Franz Waxman’s music, especially during the creation and animation of the bride, is evocative and lovely - good flick for Halloween night....
I taped “It’s a Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown” but I’m probably not going to be able to watch it with my grandson until tomorrow.
Which is OK.
I’d like to watch Little Shop of Horrors, but not sure that’s going to work out.
Or maybe Young Frankenstein.
But NOT that zumi doll, no, no, NO!
You’re not alone there. The Zuni doll store scared me silly as a little kid. It’s still quite scary, even by modern standards. The only thing that even came close when I was little was a movie trailer from around that era called “Magic” - the movie with Anthony Hopkins and Fats the Dummy.
‘Magic.’ You are totally pushing ALL of my buttons tonight! Another FAVE. *SQUEAL* *SCREAM*
