Neo Darwinians can also be referred to as biologists. You might want to read up on Punctuated Equilibrium, Allopatric Speciation and Stasis. Dogs have been breed for human comparability not survival in the wild. It was intentional and not a good example of speciation.

My sister-in-law used to raise show dogs. They were bred to others of the same breed, and often grandchild to grandfather, to match the "ideal" conformation of the breed. Judging was based on the degree to which a dog matched that conformation.

The result of all this inbreeding was defective dogs. Yes, they matched the desired conformation, but they had all kinds of health problems. In addition, a lot of genetic diversity was bred out of them, whether that was intended or not.

Whether the many breeds of dogs are proof ov evolution I can't say. They are, however, an argument for selection, although in this case it's "unnatural" rather than "natural."
