A Papa John's employee who was shot and killed in a cold-blooded stickup inside a Tennessee restaurant was laid to rest Saturday in a moving ceremony attended by the national pizza chain's very own founder and CEO, his family said.

John Schnatter flew out to Spring Hill to pay his respects to 22-year-old Gordon Schaffer's family along with about 25 cars packed with other Papa John's employees, his grieving sister said.

"We never once imagined that this would touch anyone high up in the Papa John's corporate office, let alone, John Schnatter," his sister, Devan Cronin, posted on Facebook Sunday.

Thank you John Schnatter for doing this gracious deed. But the point I am making is not a word of protest from any one. This young white kid working late at night is just another statistic in the murderous encounter with blacks that happens every day in this country.

Pizza is apparently one of many fundamental crime cause agents.

If John Schnatter announced his employees would no longer be prohibited from defending themselves THEN I will applaud him;flying out to speak meaningless words over the dead body of this young man is absolutely meaningless to me.Corporate policy which forbid all weapons and punish self-defense are just evil, and also very common.

Better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6.

Didn’t the UN recently declare pizza a basic human right?

If Obama had a son...

...he’d look like SOMEONE involved in this murder...

...but it would not be Gordon Schaffer...
