(CNN) -- Former baseball slugger Jose Canseco accidentally shot himself in his left finger while cleaning a gun, police said.

He was in surgery Tuesday night, his fiancee tweeted.

I also like to have blocks of tannerite primed and sitting around while I clean too.

I do too, but it makes some people nervous, which is why you need to drink 10 or 12 beers first. And do it by candlelight.

I don't believe this story in the slightest..... something else went down. I'm still SCRATCHing my head. However this KNUCKLEhead should be FINGERed and then NAILed under a third-degree lamp as his TOUCHing story smells rather PINKY...er, stinky to me.
