it'll be up tomorrow night
Oh, that is absolutely tragic. Prayers for all affected.
My pastor (Fr. Joe Feltz) is doing their funeral service this weekend at the high school. They are expecting 1000+ people as the folks were well known and liked.
Wow, that’s a big Service. Is Jeff going to be there?

Her on-air duties will also include regular appearances as host of NASCAR AMERICA on NBCSN, as well as a range of assignments across NBC Sports and NBC Olympics. The announcement was made by Sam Flood, Executive Producer, NBC Sports and NBCSN. "Krista is a talented host that has established a strong connection with NASCAR viewers over the course of an already impressive career," said Flood. "Her passion for the sport and comprehensive grasp of its stars, personalities and history will provide for an engaging and informative race day experience for the fans."
Krista's résumé is among the strongest in NASCAR broadcasting. When she joins NBC Sports in 2015, it will mark her 14th continuous year covering the sport on network television. She is the current host of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series pre-race show for Fox Sports, and was the first female to ever host NASCAR's Daytona Duels, as well as the NASCAR All-Star Race in Charlotte. She recently concluded her eighth season as a pit reporter for NASCAR Sprint Cup Series coverage on Fox and has hosted or co-hosted every NASCAR Hall of Fame Induction ceremony, many NASCAR Awards Banquets, and several Fox Sports studio shows. Outside of motorsports, Krista has an impressive breadth of experience, including NFL sideline reporting, and on-air contributions to numerous major sporting events, including postseason MLB broadcasts, Bowl Championship Series coverage, the Kentucky Derby, multiple NCAA men's basketball tournaments and the PGA Championship.
"This role is a dream opportunity for me and I'm honored to be a part of NBC's return to NASCAR," said Voda. "We say it often, but it's true: NASCAR is more than a sport, it's a community. I've been blessed, for many years, to stand alongside colleagues who I also consider dear friends. I'm looking forward to this new chapter and the chance to share my knowledge and enthusiasm for storytelling."
On July 23, 2013, NASCAR and NBC Sports Group reached a comprehensive agreement that grants NBCUniversal exclusive rights to the final 20 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races, final 19 NASCAR XFINITY Series events, select NASCAR Regional & Touring Series events and other live content, beginning in 2015.(NBC Sports)(10-29-2014)

New crew chief starts with Danica Patrick at Texas: After two good years with crew chief Tony Gibson, Danica Patrick welcomes Daniel Knost as the head of the #10 GoDaddy Chevy. Knost is the interim crew chief and brings along his road crew from the #41 Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR) entry of Kurt Busch. Gibson and his road crew move to Busch and the Haas Automation team. The pit crews remain the same. Knost worked with Patrick as an engineer for eight races at SHR in 2012 under Greg Zipadelli. He is also very well educated, having graduated from North Carolina State University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering. He continued his pursuit of higher education at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia, where he earned a Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering in 2003 and a doctorate in the same field in 2008. As crew chief for Busch, Knost scored a win in March at Martinsville and led Busch to the 16-driver Chase for the Sprint Cup Championship. In 2013 he was the race engineer for Ryan Newman and won at Indianapolis and helped lead the team to the 13-driver Chase for the Championship.(SHR)(10-30-2014)
New crew chief starts with Kurt Busch: Beginning this weekend, the mechanics, engineers and entire road crew for the #41 team of Kurt Busch will be led by crew chief Tony Gibson, who will take the seat atop the Haas Automation pit box. For Gibson, leading a race team isn't just about making the right calls during any given race. Instead, the Daytona Beach, Florida native takes a hands-on approach with his racecar at the SHR shop, and it extends all the way to the racetrack - something many consider to be old school. He oversees every aspect of the development of the team's fleet of racecars. He takes great pride in working with his cars, from bare chassis, to hanging the car's body, to painting and decaling the car, to setting up the car for each track. Gibson wants to be there with his racecars each and every step of the way. Gibson came to SHR in 2009 from Dale Earnhardt, Inc., to serve as Ryan Newman's crew chief of the #39 Chevy. Many of the crewmembers who worked with him came to SHR, as well. As such, Busch gets a close-knit crew that believes in the old-school mentality that has been a key to the group's success. A look at Busch's career shows that he's seemed to thrive when he's paired with a crew chief who shares that same, old-school mentality that Gibson has. Busch has been quick to compare Gibson to Jimmy Fennig, with whom he's won 14 Sprint Cup races and the 2004 championship.(SHR)(10-30-2014)

Harvick sells land: #4-Kevin Harvick and his wife, DeLana, have sold 110.5 acres adjacent to their North Carolina estate for $3.2 million. The Harvicks' 12,000-square-foot mansion in Oak Ridge is listed with Tyler Redhead & McAlister Real Estate for $3.5 million. The effusive listing describes the estate as "extraordinary" with "architectural details beyond description." Features of the opulent estate include "soaring ceilings on all levels," "European-inspired balconies" and "multiple outdoor living spaces" on 19.8 acres, including gardens, a saltwater pool with cabana and outdoor dining area, according to the listing. The land was sold in two transactions. The 29.5 acres at 8413-8419 Haw River Road sold for $1.1 million, and 81.1 acres at 8427-8461 Haw River Road sold for $2.1 million, according to Guilford County records.(Charlotte Business Journal)(10-31-2014)
I’ve driven past that place many times, it’s not far from me. It’s sort of exurban on the edge of a prosperous suburb, Oak Ridge. The immediate neighborhood is rural to the west and north with a well-kept old brick church directly across from it. To the south and east, very nice neighborhoods, with renewed building of 3,000+ sq ft 3 car garage brick houses, something I didn’t really think I’d see again in my lifetime given the severity of the real estate bust. But, they’re building them again. There are a good 20 or 30 nearby that are under construction or recently completed. The land is fenced with quality wood fencing, creosote black. Equestrian looking. Land is wooded and open, formerly agricultural. The separate tracts will be developed for similar houses, no doubt. The Harvick house itself, gated with a stone and stucco wall and set well back from Haw River Road, well, I just can’t envision the buyer, it’s that specific in taste. Too much for mine at least, ornate. But, Chris Daughtry’s nearby home off Linville Road sold quickly for over $2 million very recently, so there’s somebody out there with the ability and desire.
