The Gun Talk After Show 10-26-2014.
Admit it. You were out shootin’ again.
;-)
I was for an hour this morning, but most of the day was to grade-out and set-up a new 300yd shooting range on a friend’s 80ac farm. Not much shooting from a CAT C4, pushing wet ground. It’ll be ready by spring.
Hey fellas.....shot a few guns this weekend trying to figure out my concealed carry gun and was interested in your thoughts on the Ruger LC95, the Sig P235 and the Springfield XDs 9mm....all were comparable except the Ruger had an odd trigger pull, at least to me. Never could tell when it was going to actually go off. The Springfield has a great deal until the 31st of Oct.....so I am leaning towards it. Anyone have any info they can share on these 3?
Get the Springfield. My Wife carries the XDs in .45ACP and LOVES it. Plus, you can’t beat three free extra magazines with the purchase.
I like it!
Yeah. That was totally unexpected.
When one looks at a guy like David Codrea, you’d think he’s all serious all the time.
But when he’s on Armed American Radio almost every Sunday, he occasionally shows his rowdy side when Mark Walters and him start making their rounds through the anti-gun headlines from the previous week.
And, he really knows his sh*t when it comes to gun rights.
I’m proud to know David. A warrior to be sure.
Dunno .... Compacts are not my first choice. Been carrying concealed for work and personal protection for 4 plus decades now. Albeit a Seecamp and a Rohrbaugh are in my inventory I will 99% of the time carry a full size 1911, Sig 220 or Glock 31 IWB in crossbreed holster . Not a fan of a small handgun . Baggy shirt, good HD leather belt made for me at a local saddlery shop and a quality holster are key.
It can be done ..... Grayman variations of loose fit carhartt work clothes or a brooks brothers suit tailored properly for a radio and firearm will hide a full size pistola.
Thanks to you guys that post the links to the Sunday radio shows.... Stay safe !
mylife carries an LC9 so I’m sure he can get back to you about it. My understanding is it has a long trigger pull like my Kimber Solo which I don’t care for. I like when the you engage the firing pin and know exactly when and at what pound pull it takes to fire...like a Glock. But Glocks are too heavy for a pocket pistol so I’m still looking for one with a trigger pull like a Glock.
Missed the whole thread tonight FRiends.
Thank to all that held the helm.
Dang I want that. Tree Fiddy Seven
Very long trigger pull on the LC9
You know the drill, there is always a trade off.
it fits in yer pocket and is reasonable at 25 feet.
You are correct, of course. For professional work, you want to carry the largest, most highest capacity weapon as practical. But I really like something I can just slip into my pocket, esp. when it’s 100 degrees outside.
Not me; I carry full-size 5” 1911 Kimbers w/ 3 exrea mags. If I could carry a .50cal Beowulf “1911” w/ .425gr HPs, I would.
Have you looked at the M&P Shield? I think the trigger is Glock-like but maybe a little heavier. You can get a lighter trigger for it though.
Well, perhaps actually having been shot at some point in your life might tend to do that. On the other hand ....
Concur ..... Point made. I do have a scandium SW 340 from the performance shop that has a pair a barimi grips on it with a spare bianchi speed strip for pocket wear at the pool or beach. Time an place.... :o)
Stay safe !!!
Have you tried adjusting it?

Or maybe putting in a new trigger group?

That’s just me.
