Besides, let's do it for the children.
I like standard time in the winter.
Life does slow down a bit when it gets dark earlier. We all need that.
I like DST because where I live it gets dark at 9:00 on the longest day of the year. It would be 8:00 under Standard Time, and I just really like it being light later.
In fact, I’d prefer DST all year, but I do understand the issue of kids waiting in the dark for school busses.
But the real headache with switching is what we have to do for hospital computer systems to deal with there being two 1:30 AMs on the same day. That’s a real issue. The “spring forward” isn’t too bad because from the computer’s point of view, it’s just that nothing happens from 2:00 - 3:00 AM. But the “fall back” is an entirely different story. If a patient arrives in the Emergency Department at 1:30 AM, which 1:30 was it?!
It can be dealt with, but it literally takes hours and hours of planning by dozens of people to make sure all systems, interfaces, and people know what to do at that time. Planning usually starts 6 weeks ahead of time.
And several dozen people who normally would get the extra hour of sleep instead need to be awake and working to bring systems down, bring them up, check to make sure everything worked, and handle any miscommunications between systems that occurred.
???
If you are going to keep one system use the system that makes noon the sun at its highest point in the sky and make 8-4 work/school schedules 7-3. The purpose of daylight savings is for longer daylight in the evenings....so adjust your schedules accordingly
BTW if you move to Arizona the clocks don’t change.

Or, we could stay on standard time for the entire year.
I hate DST. I like to have it dark earlier at night.
Daylight Saving Time: Keep it year round
I prefer to stay on standard time, if people want get home before dark just go to work earlier and leave the time alone.
Why not split the difference and move the clocks back only a half hour in the fall and leave it there for good?
Then it won’t be too dark too long int eh morning and so light out so late at night, or something like that.
I say keep the clocks steady and n change. Start whenever.
Schools and business can adjust their schedules as they need daylight or not.
I like sun later in the evening and I realize others prefer the morning.
Let the congress vote and do away with the changes. I’ll live with the results.
If it was up to me, I'd make everybody adjust their clocks every month of the year - 10 minutes at a time.
I think it's a good thing to get off the couch once in a while and move about the house, changing the time on the microwave oven, the DVD player, the clock in the bedroom, etc.
While you're at it, why don't you take the dog out for a decent walk instead of just letting it out in the yard? Do it around sunset and check out the neighborhood. Observe what phase the moon is in. Does anybody pay attention to the moon these days?
Go ahead, I dare you. Without consulting the Farmer's Almanac or doing a Google search, go ahead and tell me what phase the moon is in. Is it waxing or waning? Do you even know what waxing and waning means?
Where's the Big Dipper. Could you point it out to me?
What about Polaris (a/k/a the North Star)?
Back in late June and early July, your backyard was probably full of fireflies. Did you even notice?
This time of year, your neighbors most likely have pumpkins on their doorsteps and other Halloween paraphernalia about their yards. Go out there and take a look at is. And stop complaining about having to get up and change your clocks.
I agree, I don’t like it getting dark so early.
