Rayna Rapp, a former abortion clinic worker, interviewed women getting genetic testing to find out if their babies would be disabled or have a genetic problem. Here are some things that people said about why they would abort a down syndrome baby:
The bottom line is when my neighbor said to me: Having a tard, thats a bummer for life.
downsyndromebaby30I have a cousin, my mothers sisters son, hes retarded and 38. Oh, it isnt Downs, its something else. Hes done fine, hes likely to live a normal life, to die at 80. But its really messed up the rest of the family. My aunt give up a lot of her life Im not that selfless, I dont want to live like that.
I would have a very hard time dealing with a retarded child. Retardation is relative, it could be so negligible that the child is normal, or so severe that the child has nothing All of the sharing things you want to do, the things you want to share with a child that, to me, is the essence of being a father. There would be a big void that I would feel. I would feel grief, not having what I consider a normal family.

I have an image of how I want to interact with my child, and thats not the kind of interaction I want, not the kind I could maintain.
..
I just couldnt do it, couldnt be that kind of mother who accepts everything, loves her kid no matter what. What about me? Maybe its selfish, I dont know. But I just didnt want all those problems in my life.

To some, they may seem like good reasons. But keep in mind that abortions of down syndrome babies are usually late-term abortions, performed after 16 to 20 weeks. Below is a picture of a 16-week-old unborn baby. A baby like this would be completely torn apart in an abortion procedure
Didn’t the Nazis use a similar argument when they killed the Jews?
When they killed the disabled... called the “Useless Eaters.”
What if one of those “tards” was the next Einstein?
The Führer would be pleased....
Karma’s a bi$ch. I hope you never have a major stroke, are critically injured with disability or develop Parkinsons. I’ve worked with lots of people of all ages who went from healthy to incapacitated within minutes. Your attitude is hideous.
Welcome to “conservatism,” 2014. The minute your existence impinges on my “freedom,” you become a “wrongful life.”
Even when there’s no way to identify the harm, there’s still the presumption that every other person’s existence is a harm. Look at the response to the Duggars. They’re homeschooling, have no debt (thus no mortgage deduction), tithe .. and yet, somehow, the very existence of “too many children” MUST, SOMEHOW, be hurting ME!!!
Freep the world, feeling great about the Global Economic Collapse.
“Didnt the Nazis use a similar argument when they killed the Jews?”
They did indeed.
“Downs Syndrome”? So what? That’s nothing! I have a few friends who had Liberal children who grew into adult age - but THEY managed to struggle through!
Were you posting to Morgana? If so, why?
This kind of reminds of David Nivens’ second wife. His first wife was a wonderful person, but she died at the age of 26 after a head injury. His second wife was a European model, very beautiful and very vain. She made his life one huge hell. When he got ALS she was very cruel to him. When she died a person close to the family was quoted to have said, “I don’t think I know of anyone who was sad to see her go.”
Now, every year we get a couple of kids with Down Syndrome. No more than that. The rest of the DS kids have been exterminated by the eugenicist liberals and their compassion.
Obviously, I never met those kids who were killed, but if I could ask them, I'd bet most of them wish they were here instead. I never met a living kid with DS who wished he was dead instead.
Of course not. I’m replying to the author of the article.
Sheesh.
Rather the statements regarding infanticide.
You’ll have to excuse me. I’ve traveled close to 10,000 miles since 10/2 and am just lagged at this point.
I want to write something very mean of these women, but Christianity reminds me that some, even one, may come some day to regret this and realize the horror, and so I pray for all of them for the day that comes at that they seek Christ’s mercy and receive it abundantly and meet their little feller beside Christ one day in a happier reunion.
Hope, faith, love.
This felt much better than a wicked snear I was contemplating - as God’s way always does.
