Texas nurse’s dog, Bentley, tests negative for Ebola virus!

Bentley doesn’t have Ebola, but he’ll stay isolated in Dallas with plenty of time to play and snooze until Nov. 1, when his quarantine is over. His owner, Nina Pham, has since been upgraded from fair to good condition after contracting Ebola.

Bentley is Ebola-free, but his quarantine isn’t over.

The cute Cavalier King Charles spaniel — whose owner, Texas nurse Nina Pham, is battling the dangerous virus at the National Institutes of Health in Maryland — will be kept in isolation until Nov. 1 despite testing negative for the infection, according to a statement released by the city of Dallas.

The 1-year-old dog will remain quarantined at Hensley Field Services Center for the allotted 21 days, just like humans who have been exposed to the virus.

That’s a cute dog.

Why in the hell would someone name a dog “Bently”.

Given its appearance, I believe ‘Cthulhu’ would be a more appropriate name.

Just look at how it’s savagely playing with the corpse of that poor little animal. It obviously has a demonic blood lust!

I was just talking about that in post 4.

That’s why my pups love them. They vicious shake them to make sure they’re “dead”.

They are Skinneez on Amazon. I don’t own the company. :o)

It looks like she just gave it a bath, got the dog out of the dryer afterwards.

(or it bit into a power cord)

Bet he misses him mama and papa and doesn’t understand what is happening. Hope is papa is fine and they’ll be reunited in a few days.

Anyone know if their apartment was gutted like Louise’s or what?

Bentley is a blenheim Cav with what appears to be a cotton coat (the Einstein look).

The reddish-liver/white coloration in a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel was purportedly the Duke of Marlborough's favorite coloration (they also come in tri-color and ruby).

The Duke of Marlborough beat the French at the Battle of Blenheim, hence the name for the coloration.

Blenheims may also have a Marlborough spot on the top of their heads, but Bentley does not appear to have one.

Same reason dogs don’t get colds and flu, and can eat dead things on the road, and can shake hands by, you know, with their noses.

Well for one "Ebola Bently" is easy to say.

LOL, I'm glad for the dog.

Conformation freaks have wrecked goodness knows how many dog breeds.

Hopefully they don't get to this one:

This is a working dog. It is not a breed, but a type. The Dutch don't care about where the stripes are, they don't keep breed books, and they get great working dogs.

I work in dog daycare/boarding. Bentley, Max and Bella are the most common names in the facility. We even have one poor critter named barack...I try really hard to like him. Prayers up up for this whole family. They did everything the right way.

Nine out of eleven KNPV PH2 qualifiers in Holland this year were "mixed breed" dogs.

I LOVE IT!!!

No problem.

'Mixed' often means you don't know all of the breeds involved, but I have a friend with a half-border collie, half-Australian shepherd. Someone I see on dog walks has a half-border collie, half-Golden (one green eye; one blue).

I give an enthusiastic thumbs up to those two mixes.

Texas nurse’s dog, Bentley, tests negative for Ebola virus!

I can see the trailer for a very real apocolyptic movie now, as the little pup walks over the bodies of the rest of us, wagging his tail, barking and looking for Nina Pham.
