The message is clear; No more Biblical upbringing of your own child.
How else will we continue the Travon Marin image of Blacks?
I had to fetch my own switches when I misbehaved. I’m surprised the EPA didn’t come after me for deforestation.
From the reports I’ve seen, Adrian Peterson was trying to be an involved father in the upbringing of his son.
Actually, his conviction would be doing the Vikings management a favor. He only had a year of two of gas left in him anyway, and they wanted to avoid paying the last year on his huge contract. Cutting or trading him would have been heavily resisted and I’m sure they were hoping to find a way to dump him without incurring the wrath of the fans. This would do it for them.
As a Vikings fan, I loved to watch AD run with the football, but I know it’s going to take a few years to re-build under Zimmer and Bridgewater and it was unlikely Peterson would still be around for that new era anyway.
Didn’t you get the memo? Scattering your seed abroad and then turning up to beat a kid into line is Biblical! (/s)
When AP beats this for what it is; a rediculous charge, his team of lawyers will get a very nice retirement ‘settlement’ from the NFL.
The fool has six children by six different women. That tells you all you need to know. He’s an ignoramus with no impulse control.
Supposedly, ex NBA star (and one of my favorites...but not for this) Calvin Murphy has been confirmed to have fourteen children by nine different women.
The out of wedlock kid thing won’t be an issue for the NFL until it’s an issue in society. People like to pretend the league leads, but it doesn’t. It’s all about the PR, when society decides Behavior X is bad, then that behavior brings bad press, which the league doesn’t want, so they go after it, sometimes bringing good press. But until the behavior causes bad press the league doesn’t care, and it shouldn’t, in the end off field behavior is only their business when it effects the bottom line. Same with any other employer.
