Man Decides to Pull a Cop over, Asks for His ID

An average citizen decided to pull a Washington state police officer over, asked him a few questions, and even checked his identification. Gavin Seim pulled the cop over for what appeared to be an unmarked sheriff car violation. And the conversation, remarkably, didn’t get as heated as you might think.

Seim asked the officer for some identification to prove who he is. After some hesitation, the officer obliged. He asked if this was some kind of game; Seim responded, “This isn’t a game, it’s called law.”

Can we get Congress to act like this guy when it comes to the POTUS or is that asking too much?

He, the citizen speaker, is VERY lucky he didn’t get the ‘full treatment’ meted out to many others’ seen as ‘obstructing or impeding the lawful discourse of officer of the law’, as emphasized with a baton smacked into the choppers. The Officer was so compliant, one has to ask if this was not a set up, or if he may have known of this officer’s calm temperment. Just keep it up, Mr. Mouthy, with your’ citizen’s arrests.

I showed this to my 83 year old father who was a New york city cop in the 60s and 70s. He said a guy like that when he was a cop would have gotten a “billy club haircut” and a “tour of 4 story staircase” LOL!

I think that (Bang-Ding-Ow!)would still happen today, more often than not. Since they were being filmed, this probably kept the Officer from being too spontaneous, but even with camera’s rolling, you take your life in your hands by ‘toying’ with a cop.

That just shows that we’ve had worthless trash wearing badges for a long time.

There was a guy sitting in a pickup outside my house, facing the intersecting street. I went out and asked him if he needed something? He responded "No, thank You". I asked him if he was seeing a neighbor or waiting for someone? He said, "no". I then told him I was taking a picture of his vehicle on my house camera DVR, and pointed to it, the one focused on the street. He then showed me his detective badge and politely asked me "not to do that". He explained he was watching a house around the corner, looking for a narcotics suspect. I asked him if he wanted some coffee while he waited? He said "Sure", and "Thank You", and asked me not to discuss his activity with anyone. I said sure.

Some cops are really quite decent people. I wish they could find more of them.

That detective in the pick up kept his cool and stayed polite. It’s good to be reminded that we still have some professionally behaved officers out there. The scenario could have become agitated very easily with just one profane phrase or angry expression.

People somewhat closer to this incident say that the citizen was well known to the cop as a harmless local crank.

Yeah worthless trash that took care of punks before they got to you. He told me one story once him and his partner were driving down Houston street in the early 70s one night and they saw this woman running crouching down and trying to hide in bushes and then running some more. When they got closer they saw her shirt was ripped, she had blood on her body and they asked her what was going on. She said this guy just tried to rape and stab her and he was chasing after her. So they drove on and sure enough there was a brother running down the street barefoot wearing only pants with a butcher knife in his hand. Back then they had this judge called “Turn ‘em loose Bruce”.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruce_M._Wright

They knew if they busted him Bruce would let him out the next day. So what did they do? They dragged him to the roof of an apartment building, hung him over the edge and held him by his feet and gave him a choice. After that they never had another problem with his “hobby”. The point being there is a difference between being street smart and going by the law, and being that our laws are completely perverted by liberals today I would say the cops back then did a lot more to prevent crime that cops today who are all but neutered thanks to liberals. Look at Ferguson.

Deputy: How are you comparing me breaking the law to a mere citizen breaking the law. Apples to Organges?

There you have it, friends.

A few years ago there was a cop sitting in the courtyard in front of my house. He was in a marked car. I went out and asked him if there was a problem or if there was anything he needed and then I saw he was reading a Hustler magazine. I brought him some bottled water. I figured he needed to cool off.

Gavin Seim? You need to know Gavin has done this stuff before. He ran for Congress in the WA 4th District (the district where we are now trying to get Clint Didier elected) and as part of his campaign went to a local courthouse and asked where he could store his weapon (which they are required to do by law). Even the sheriff in that county got involved in that one.

He was also present at the Bundy Ranch stand off when that was going on and when Congressional debates were held among the Republican candidates here Gavin would pull out a US Constitution and declare that was his platform.

He's a good guy, young, couple of kids. He didn't do well in the primary but there were 8 candidates running and he did better than some. We may be hearing more from this young man as time goes by.
