I already agreed that she showed poor judgement -stupidity even. She’s also paying for that and it remains to be seen if she lives long enough to be prosecuted.
She’s in isolation now - so going forward and stopping this from going forward will be important. So far the institutions and officials responsible for stopping this haven’t shown that they are up to the task.
You should care about the CDC and all the other incompetent people who are supposed to be “experts” giving out faulty advice, rules, and in general endangering everyone with their incompetence.
Interesting that you work in health care - has your organization prepared for an Ebola patient to walk through the doors? Have you had any first hand experience in treating patients with Ebola?
If so, maybe you could share some knowledge with people on this thread who may be curious as to what they should do in the event they or a family member are exposed.
Are you planning, or making any preparations for being quarantined in case you are exposed?
The Ebola related emails have been flying since the day the story broke.
In Dallas, all the hospital have something called JCAHO standards regarding containment of things like Ebola and SARS .
The problem appears to be that Duncan withheld key facts during his first ER visit triage session.
However. this nurse knew all of this history and respecting a 21 day quarantine.She worked at the hospital . She was under a honor system quarantine which never works .
It appears she was more worried about dress in Cleveland than being a licensed nurse .
She was assigned to the isolation area which means you Know all about contagious diseases.
You don't need the CDC to tell you to stay in quarantine or to jump on a plane to Cleveland to buy a dress .
All these stories about calling or not is BS.
Its a quarantine for such a exposure when no one knew the admitting
patient had a highly contagious disease.
