Scott Waring explained that the cross inside a circle was unusual and could possibly be three things. The objects that he felt this symbol, similar to a Celtic or Irish cross shape, could be are a fossil creature, a crystal formation and micro-technology. Apparently, Scott Waring has never seen a Phillips head screw before.

Most of these “objects” on mars pictures are obvious tricks of lighting. However, this one is interesting, it seems too perfectly round to be naturally formed, it almost looks like a fossilized sea creature...

Better check the bottom surfaces of their rover.
(I don’t know what the scale here is.)
Actually almost looks like it is a center of something else - look how some lines almost seem to meld away from it perfectly, to that “rock” seeming to project from the ground to its upper right. Almost the look of a sword hilt or some other such thing.

For a look at the RAW photos, directly from the NASA site, there is this link:

The NASA site says it is from the "Microscopic Imager" so it is likely that the circle is too small to be a Rock Abrasion Tool (RAT) mark. However, I can find no references to scale.
