I agree. I found Carl pretty annoying for the first two seasons, but not anymore. He’s a young warrior, for sure.

He said a few things in the episode last night that I found heartening for his character arc. There is a real danger for the writers to make him very one dimensional now in this role of warrior, that he could get too cold blooded and emotionless. But he said something to the black Samurai chick that nobody really knew him and that he wasn't like they all thought he was. I took this to mean that he didn't think of himself as a "man" like his father had complimented earlier. This could be interesting. I feel bad that he was forced out of his childhood but understand that in that world it is a necessity and one I would have to require of my own child should it come to that. Of course, my child is now married and in her middle 30's but you get the drift.
