America is doped up—and drunk.

According to a shocking new report from the Health and Human Services Department, there were 24.6 million people aged 12 or older who used illicit drugs during just one month last year.

“That’s enough people to fill every major league baseball stadium in the U.S. 19 times,” said the report. There are 30 MLB stadiums.

Even worse: Of the 24.6 million dopers, 2.2 million were adolescents aged 12 to 17. …

Stupid headline. Illegal and illicit are not the same thing.

The last SUPER FLU shot landed me in the ER I was eliminating at both ends faster than I could take in Gator Aid. Ended up Dehydrated and needed a IV from the ER, along with anti puke meds. Lost 10 lbs fast.

I have Colitis Ileus attacks, they make you think you are having a heart attack. They blow my veins by using to large IV Caths. I take a child size 22-25. All they are putting in is IV fluid, prokinetics for slow motility and pain meds. Admit people don’t like to input my drug reaction list, nor will they attach it to my file folder. So I get scripts for meds I am allergic to brought up. And you can’t get the STUPID people to REMOVE them from the order list. I have to watch them like a hawk. I don’t need drug reactions on top of being sick.

My ‘food’ is a liquid diet for the 3 days. I call it a Vertigo/Meniere’s attack on a tray. 1 tray with over salted broth, and a box of Ensure Clear which is GAG, PUKE SWEET, contains more than the 2000 mg of sodium I am allowed in 1 day with Vertigo/Meniere’s. Then you have that tasteless gelatin. If it is red I’m allergic to red food dye. So ALL I consume is Ice Tea and grape juice from those trays. When they introduce solid easy digest food, it comes up cold and inedible. Last time they gave me a Turkey salad, a big bowl of lettuce, a tbs of turkey cubes, and about that much of a white bean. I can’t digest RAW stuff or legumes. And I am allergic to sea food.

GIVE ME A BREAK! SEND UP THE DIETICIAN and know what LOW SODIUM MEANS! I have enough issues with Vertigo/Meniere’s and my OP bone density score is -3.1, which means I am a FALL RISK.

Your concerns about taking prescription drugs are valid.

Any drug that has a therapeutic effect is going to have side effects.

Pharma manufacturers are required to do large-scale clinical trials that generate data on therapeutic benefit, safety, and side effects. Even the promotional messages to doctors and patients are approved by the FDA.

This is more than can be said for OTC supplements or many food products that claim a health benefit. Remember how margarine was claimed to be a healthy alternative to butter? This was based on the now-discredited idea that saturated fat causes atherosclerosis.

Most doctors believe that they do not have time to read the trial studies for the medicines they prescribe. They rely on information from other doctors, from the pharma rep, and from their patients. Although clinical trials may he been done on 5,000 or 8,000 patients, through clinical experience it is learned which drugs work best in specific patient types.

In my view, each patient has the ultimate responsibility for the drugs that he or she takes. You do not have to take opioids if you are concerned about addiction or constipation.

You do not have to take Lyrica or Forteo, although the therapeutic benefits may outweigh the costs in terms of side effects.

One should read the scientific literature on the medicines one is taking, to have a full understanding of benefits and risks.

Personally, I take a set of dietary supplements that I have carefully researched. These go beyond simple vitamins- my goals are beneficial neuromodulation and non-senescent life extension.

Most of the child abuse and neglect cases include elements of drug abuse, alcohol abuse and mental illness.

I don’t understand why people can’t just stick with the fall down drunk, blackout, vomit and violence inducing all American booze swilling and leave the bad stuff like pot alone.

Our nation's Doritos supplies are in peril!
