Moonshiners with illegal stills have known of this process for 300 years!
Sounds like it would also be good for making beer that does not get skunky.
Just what we need! More government degradation of gasoline.
Ethanol bad, Butanol good.
Using ethanol as a fuel is inefficient as it take more energy to make than is recovered in using it as a fuel especially if you consider the energy needed to produce and transport the corn. Ethanol also has 40% less energy per gallon than gasoline so ethanol based motor fuels deliver fewer miles per gallon. Lastly the entire ethanol industry is based on government subsidy from planting the corn to pumping it into your tank. Without all the government subsidies ethanol fuels would make $4 per gallon gasoline look cheap. We would be far better off to develop the vast oil and natural gas resources we have in this country than to continue this ethanol boondoggle.
Rub some Monistat on your Prius to clear up that yeast infection.
