I have learned now to modify and maximize space when packing.. Rolling and cramming is acceptable, worse case pack a steam iron.

We are lucky as we will have ‘free’ laundry and pressing on the ship included.

Yaknow how many pairs of socks ya can stuff in a shoe ;-?

Exactly. Not on bit of space goes to waste.

After my above mentioned around the world trip I went to the beach for a weekend. Just threw a couple items into the suitcase. That took as much space as cramming and rolling and was less than 1/3 of what I took on my flight.

My trick when the kids were little . . . I’d put an extra pair or two of my shoes or an outfit or so in each of their suitcases and maybe extra items in my husbands suitcase. I told them Mom’s need choices! Now they are all older, 17 & 20 and pack their own suitcases so no more sneaking my stuff into their suitcases. I figure since I am “keeper of the stuff” when we’re touring, passports, boarding passes, money, that I was due a few extra items especially on longer 2-3 week trips. :)
