Abortion and pop music culture are often intertwined. Whether its the girlfriend of Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler having an abortion or Michael Jackson writing a song about abortion that wasnt released until after his death, pop music and musicians are frequently involved in abortion or commenting on it.
Now, classic rocker Stevie Nicks of the band Fleetwood Mac has confirmed that the song Sara was about a baby she had with Eagles frontman Don Henly who was eventually killed in an abortion.
Heres more:
stevienicksFleetwood Macs Stevie Nicks has confirmed that she was once pregnant with Don Henleys child.
The Eagles singer has said in interviews that Fleetwood Mac song Sara was dedicated to the spirit of the aborted baby they conceived together.
In a new interview with Billboard, Nicks confirmed Henleys story. Had I married Don and had that baby, and had she been a girl, she said, I would have named her Sara. But there was another woman in my life named Sara, who shortly after that became Micks wife, Sara Fleetwood.
Its accurate, she added, referring to Henleys suggestion of the songs meaning, but not the entirety of it. Nicks wrote the song in 1979, when it appeared on the bands Tusk album.
Know the song is about abortion, the lyrics make more sense in that context:
Sara, youre the poet in my heart Never change, never stop And now its gone All I ever wanted Was to know that you were dreaming (Theres a heartbeat And it never really died)
Here are the full lyrics:
Wait a minute baby
Stay with me awhile Said youd give me light But you never told be about the fire Drowning in the sea of love Where everyone would love to drown And now its gone It doesnt matter anymore When you build your house Call me home And he was just like a great dark wing Within the wings of a storm I think I had met my match he was singing And undoing the laces Undoing the laces Drowning in the sea of love Where everyone would love to drown And now its gone It doesnt matter anymore When you build your house Call me home Hold on The night is coming and the starling flew for days Id stay home at night all the time Id go anywhere, anywhere Ask me and Im there because I care Sara, youre the poet in my heart Never change, never stop And now its gone It doesnt matter what for When you build your house Ill come by Drowning in the sea of love Where everyone would love to drown And now its gone It doesnt matter anymore When you build your house Call me home All I ever wanted Was to know that you were dreaming (Theres a heartbeat And it never really died)
Must have been an awfully late abortion for Mrs. Henley. And FWIW, Henley survived it.
So the coke head,Obama a$$ kisser who was banging everything in sight killed her baby. She didn’t want to be punished with a child.
Good example of how pop culture has devolved into a post Christian era, neo pagan era of decadence and decline. Sorry but the reality is that pop culture reflects the values of the society from which it emanates. Clinton and Obama were not elected twice in a political or cultural vacuum.
Stevie Nicks is an old woman past her prime in a lot of ways... including musically. She’s trying to stay relevant....
That was - was - one of my favorite songs. Musically it still is, but the lyrics are now ruined for me.
One can only imagine what the world is missing out on due to millions of potentially productive people being killed in the womb. Maybe we'd have a cure for cancer by now or have a car that gets 100 mpg.
Takes a special kind of evil to willingly and knowingly profit from dead kids.
Henley is a scumbag. A big liberal scumbag.
And Stevie...in your OWN detailed words, do you think actually happened to Sara in this abortion.
a. The abortion doctor waved a magic wand and Sara vanished?
b. The abortion doctor carefully delivered Sara from your womb, and then gently handed her into the arms of angels to bring her to heaven?
c. The abortion doctor gave her a lethal injection, and she painlessly drifted away into a peaceful sleep.
I think I heard her say in an interview that she regretted that she had not been able to have a child. Now we know why. How very sad and depressing.
Sounds like she had regrets.
I think in her heart of heart she knows what happened to Sara.
Can we assume that Stevie basically slept with every male musician/singer she ever sang with?
Nicks has said that she consciously chose not to have children of her own, due to her demanding career and desire to follow her art wherever it should take her: "My mission maybe wasn't to be a mom and a wife; maybe my particular mission was to write songs to make moms and wives feel better."[146] She finds maternal fulfillment through her niece, godchildren, and extended family: "I have lots of kids. It's much more fun to be the crazy auntie than it is to be the mom, anyway."[147]
A long time ago, 1988, I was petitioning to put Ron Paul on the ballot in South Dakota. In a supermarket in Aberdeen, I came across the a 3 by 5 card on a cork board provided by the store to the public. It said God can save you and your baby. It reminded me of Isaiah 59:1. Our country is in need of revival.
