BALTIMORE (WJZ/CBS NEWS)—The Baltimore bullet has been arrested for driving under the influence in Baltimore City early Tuesday morning. Michael Phelps was arrested around 1:40 a.m. in the Fort McHenry Tunnel on I-95 by Maryland Transportation Authority police. Follow CBS Baltimore on Twitter for the latest. MDTA released the following statement: “A MDTA police officer was operating stationary radar on southbound I-395 leaving Baltimore City when a White 2014 Land Rover entered the radar’s area of influence at excessive speed (84 mph in a 45 mph zone). The officer followed the vehicle onto northbound I-95, through the tunnel and initiated an enforcement stop just beyond the tunnel’s toll plaza. Mr. Phelps was identified as the driver by his driver’s license and appeared to be under the influence. He was unable to perform satisfactorily a series of standard field sobriety tests. Mr. Phelps was cooperative throughout the process.” Phelps was arrested and charged with DUI, excessive speed and crossing double lane lines within the Fort McHenry Tunnel on I-95 in Baltimore. He was later released. This makes Phelps’ second DUI arrest.

This guy can do 3 things: swim, get drunk, and get high. He’s gone back to swimming because he’s worthless at anything else. He’ll become the next Bill Johnson (Alpine skier) of the swim set.

It’s called smart marketing of your services. And expanding your potential customer base.

You can pay for a good number of tows for the cost of a DUI fine.

Still, it might be easier to pay someone $25 to drive you to the bar and carry you out when you’re drunk.

Even cheaper, buy a bottle of some good bourbon and get loaded in your living room.

FYI.. this is a well-known speed trap zone...on I-95 and I-895 south of the tunnels thru Baltimore.

Why hasn’t that guy gotten a set of braces yet? He reminds of the Jaws character from the Bond movie.

Question, does Maryland have a 2 strikes and your out clause meaning second DUI is automatic jail time 6 months? In Florida you’re not getting out of a 2nd DUI with probation.

When Ryan Lochte is doing things smarter than you are, that’s the big clue that it’s time to re-evaluate your life.

I got arrested 24 years ago and got off because I was 0.1% BAC below the legal limit when tested at the station. Being VERY stupid at age 21, thank God I never hurt anyone or myself. Never again. I’d do a $200 cab ride first. Heck, a grand would be a bargain.

Absolutely. When you kill someone like that, it literally destroys your brain when it comes to living. You’ll never recover. He killed an 18 year old kid, said he watched him choke and vomit on his own blood, turned him over as the blood poured from his mouth and said he knew he was dying, was crying and wanted to say goodbye to his parents and sister and he went still in his hands. It just baffles me why anyone would drive drunk, it is the worst kind of suicide.

There’s that word again. “Heavy.” Why are things so heavy in the future? Is there a problem with the Earth’s gravitational pull ?
