Humans are not capable of making long term, rational decisions in their late teens and early 20s. That is the time when they are preyed on by these vultures. I wonder how many young men and women would do things differently if you asked them 10 years later? Virtually all of them.

I disagree. I made some damn good decisions and so did many of my friends. But, yeah—lots of people engage in short term thinking. However, many never stop doing it with age.

That is simply not true. Everyone is fully capable of rational decisions at any age. However it REALLY helps to have some current real life examples of people screwing up.

Back in the 70’s when I was going to High School we had a very beautiful 14 year old get pregnant. This school did not experience another youth pregnancy for at least the next SIX years.

Similarly Drunk driving death by young people diminish after a recent local incident. Unfortunately the young need these examples every so often. Pray that your children are not the example
