Ward’s anger took over and he paid the price. Stewart will also pay the price, even though he did not strike Ward intentionally - he was going too fast to avoid some type of accident. Had he turned more sharply - or braked - no telling what other incident/injury would have unfolded.

This. I was driving along the Interstate at a mere 85 mph (the speed limit) when 3 guys ran across the road.
I did not register them standing in the road until I was in the process of driving by them. They HAPPENED to be in the next lane when I went pass.
I am not a guy with bad reflexes or a lack of attention or who is unfamiliar with speed.
I don’t think the human brain can process some things fast enough.
