When it’s so easy to grow your own veggies, why do people go to Whole Foods or any other store? And think of all the chemicals and pesticides in that food at Whole Foods. It’s no wonder we have high cancer rates in this country.

My understanding is that "organic" produce (and other products) are supposed to be raised free of those chemicals and pesticides.

Also there is a co-op farm in my city (not a "farmers market") where you get the produce fresh off the vine (that day, that moment) and pay far cheaper (by the bag, no scale). Blows away the pricing of any store.

Exactly. I eat lots of whole foods. They are all grown in my backyard garden with no pesticides, and no worries about E Coli either.

Spinach sells for 3 bucks for a rather small bag at the local grocery. Red bell peppers cost a little less than 2 bucks a piece.

My bell peppers I grew from seeds saved last year and they are easily grown indoors in front of a window. The spinach cost about a buck, and I grow it all year too.

I don't know why more people aren't gardening, since the prices of food are going up so quickly.
