One million steins of beer were consumed over the weekend, organizers say, as tourists and locals kicked off the 181st Oktoberfest. The Bavarian beer festival, held on Munich's Theresienwiese, lasts 16 days and will welcome more than six million visitors from around the world. This year, the average price of a mug of beer at any of the tents this year comes to €10.67 ($13.70 U.S.). Gathered here are some of the scenes from the opening weekend of Oktoberfest 2014.

True enough. I’ll always pick beer and boobs over football. Why didn’t Muschamp get fired anyway?

I think he has incriminating pictures of Foley.

Wow! I might just be persuaded to drink a beer or two. And I don’t like the taste of beer.

Why does the Oktoberfest start in September?? Traditional dates relating to the marriage celebration of King Ludwig of Bavaria in October of 1810. The start was moved to September to allow for better weather and the end date is now related to Reunification Day when East and West Germany became one.

The night before, the party crowd was less intense. They settled for annexing the Sudetenland.

LOL
