Can somebody explain to me the absolutely CRAZY long lines I’m seeing at every Apple Store I pass by in the wee hours of the morning ( I worked the night shift on a disaster recovery test and saw this with my own eyes ).
Near my place, I could count at least 500 people standing in line at about 1 AM. after the iPhone 6 was announced....
WHY CAN’T PEOPLE WAIT TILL DAYTIME OR EVEN FOR A WEEK OR MORE ? Why must they have it IMMEDIATELY?
I have noticed that when certain MacAfee updates take place my computer afterwards works slower.
Ya think??
Power draw is accelerated some, but they keyboard is worth it. Not to mention that Apple stuck it to the man for the time being. The phone link to iPad’s and Mac will be pretty good too.
I definitely had a few problems. The biggest one was that my iPad kept locking up. After about a dozen lockups, I just happen to try turning off the multi-gesture setting since I noticed it locked up on “swipe up” and after that it worked fine. Later, I turned the multi-gesture back on the it was fine. Other problems were a few apps and those had to be re-installed and they worked fine after that.
Silly Applebots... Always wait for the SP
Jeez, like moths to the light ... Apple “haters” are drawn to threads such as this to take shots at Apple products plus to take the opportunity to hurl insults at actual Apple users.
I’ve never been able to understand this strange phenomenon.
Did the update on my iPhone 5S. Having hard time posting. Cannot see keyboard and text at same time.
When viewing webpages in landscape mode, cannot scroll. Must rotate phone to portrait mode, at which time page automatically reloads.
When I click a link on a page, and then use the back arrow to return, it brings me back to the top of the page, and I must scroll to find my place again, which means rotating to portrait mode and waiting for page to reload again.
Images are sometimes shown full size, often taking up more than the screen. I cannot pan to see the portions that are off-screen. Sometimes the images are shrunk to screen size or smaller, but I cannot zoom in to see detail. Was trying to look at arrest reports posted at another thread, but I could only see the top 2/3 of the left half, and it was too small to read it.
Can no longer share files with my husband’s iPad. Says both devices must be updated, but the iPad can’t be updated because it requires 4.4 gigabytes of free space. 4.4 gigabytes!!! WTF?
But Siri can now tell me the name of the song my neighbor is blasting on his car radio, so it’s all good.
I want to edit the top of this post, but it won’t let me scroll that high.
“Every major iOS update causes suspicious slowdowns in older iPhone and iPad types.”
Uh...that’s been the case for every operating system upgrade on every computing platform ever. Doing more takes more resources and more steps.
Sounds like a typical followup to a successful product - bigger, slower, costlier.
Wife and daughter avoided that upgrade by spending $500 on two new phones, and obligating themselves to new two year contract.
Wiley women.

Never purchase a first model of anything. Never install the first version of new software. Haven’t we learned anything? Wait for the first service pack, or even the second one. Sometime next month, Apple will have fixed most of the bugs. Then I will install it.
And lest we forget, only by every other edition of Microsoft windows.
I think the problem is that number 8.....
Did not work out for Microsoft either.
iOS9 will fix everything.
As an iPad fan, I can say this is the buggiest update yet (I have an Air). Disappointed in how they rearranged my Safari, too. Not enough to defect, though.
“The initial uptake for Apple’s iOS 8 has been less than half of...iOS 7.”
Complaining about uptake in just 24 hours?
Nearly half of all devices have been updated in just 5 days. Name one other OS that showed that kind of upgrade acceptance. That this uptake isn’t the fastest ever is not grounds for naysaying.

Where’s Elmer FUD?
Actually, it went pretty smooth for me, which is more than I can say for the iOS 7 upgrade. But that was with an iPhone 4. iOS 8 is find on the iPhone 5s.
