I wouldn’t necessarily say that, unless the guy had been raping her or something.

She was CLEARLY of age of consent at 20. She is a WOMAN! She had a man over at the house. Perhaps that was against the house rules, and she secretly had him there. Even so, if he wasn’t threatening anyone, the father shouldn’t have shot him. I expect he’ll be charged with 2nd degree murder, deal down to manslaughter, and get sentenced to 5yrs - 3 suspended; and get out after a year on parole.

It’s unfortunate for everyone involved. The guy’s family lost someone, and he’s probably ruined the relationship with his daughter forever. In my opinion, the guy is a trigger happy idiot.

Now, if the girl was around 13 years old, my opinion would be TOTALLY different regarding this matter.

I've had a few arguments with some freepers who would simply blast away at a shadowy figure in their home. Even though it could be their own child sneaking around, they think they have it coming. Sad. You shouldn't automatically shoot in many cases, it will result in grief from authorities and lawsuits.

This thread sure is getting lots of mileage from folks getting laughs from this shooting and the media coverage.
Marc Carrion apparently didn't mean harm to his girlfriend's family. It is clearly a tragedy he was accidentally killed.
Gungrabbers will use this to illustrate that gunowners "are inclined to shoot all willy-nilly" at anything they see in their homes.

There’s a lesson here for both (1) young women living with their parents and (2) the men who date them.

To all men out there: If you’re dating a woman of any age who lives with her parents, don’t go to her house unless invited by her parents. And especially don’t crouch in her room to “hide” yourself - that will just make you look suspicious. And don’t ever, ever struggle with the parent who finds you.

The daughter’s relationship with the croucher was certainly ruined.

Story says there was an altercation...Either the younger guy attacked the father or the father told the guy to leave and he decided he wasn't going to without a fight...

The girl certainly knew her father owned a gun...She (apparently) stayed quiet till after the shot was fired...She probably didn't know how to explain there was a guy in her bedroom...

The dead guy willingly sneaked into a young girl's bedroom...And then he was crouching in the corner when the dad came thru the door...The guy must have been a serious gambler...I mean what idiot is going to sneak into a girl's bedroom with her father downstairs and NOT consider he may have a gun...And then crouch in the corner like you know you're not supposed to be there...

Could be the father fired the gun because he feared the younger guy was going to cause great bodily harm to him...

Sad situation but don't go into another man's house uninvited...Could be deadly...I say not guilty...

Totally agreed, especially if she was in the same room, it doesn’t say.

...almost sounds like an execution to me, the fact that he was “cowering” doesn’t imply he was much of a threat.
