I’ve conducted my own boycott of football since a few years ago, some would say that is Un-American, I say screw them all.

So many find it a thrill to feed the beast, but I’ve observed that there is no sport anymore, outside of the back yard or neighborhood empty lot.

I would like the NFL to be taxed.

It is no longer a non-profit organization.

The NFL is merely the trade organization for the 32 teams. The teams have to pay taxes and if the NFL itself were made a taxable entity, the teams would hire some very good accountants to make sure that it didn't make any profit and thus didn't have to pay taxes.

The NFL isn't like McDonald's where both the franchiser and franchisees are profit making companies. The NFL exists for the teams rather than having its own shareholders or owners.

The NFL is a league of abusers, and except for Green Bay (owned by the fans - me included), the owners are morons... including Robert Kraft.

Did NIKE make all of those outfits that Clinton Portis used to wear?

Where’s Nike at??

Given that the Rozelle headband happened about 30 years ago, Nike did not yet have the exclusive contract with the NFL it now does.

McMahon wore the headband in response to a $5,000 fine he received from the NFL for wearing an Adidas headband when NFL rules at the time said no corporate logos were permitted.

Yes, war on Christianity and everything decent. Goodell is a progressive dirt-bag.

Karl, the TV and merchandising rights are worth hundreds of millions.

Someone is making a profit off of them.

There are no other logos or slogans on his outfit. That’s really what the rule is about, if a player is going to display a logo or slogan during official NFL activities they MUST belong to companies that pay the NFL or team as sponsors. “Know Jesus Know Peace” is a portion of a trademarked phrase ( http://www.trademarkia.com/no-jesus-no-peace-know-jesus-know-peace-78051594.html ) and the holder is probably not an NFL sponsor. So it can’t be worn. Very simple.

Someone is making a profit off of them.

The team owners, who pay full taxes on those profits. The NFL exists only as a trade organization for the teams. If the NFL is made a taxable organization, then the networks and merchandising companies will just have to write 32 separate checks to the individual teams.

Acts 4:18-20 applies:

…And when they had summoned them, they commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.

But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to give heed to you rather than to God, you be the judge; for we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard...”

You’re right, but someone wanted to post it so we’d get our dander up. This is a non story, and makes Christians look stupid.

Someday those claiming no offense meant, NFL just following the rules or Nike just protecting their franchise rights will have a chance to argue their case before the final judge.

How do they think that’s going to workout for them?

As I said if he had wore a ‘Allah is the Light’ shirt they would have been two out comes:

1. Nothing would have been said.
2. If they had said something the NFL would be backpedaling as hard as they could and apologizing for their ‘insensitivity’.
