‘Ozzie and Harriet’ House Modernized and Back on the Market

Rehabbed from top to bottom, this house will always be remembered as the home of Ozzie and Harriet, America’s first real television family between 1952 and 1966. It also served as Ari Gold’s home on “Entourage.”

When it last changed hands in 2013 for $3.025 million, the home still had the same kitchen layout as it did on television, and Ozzie’s wood-paneled “pub room” stood frozen in time, complete with Ozzie’s model train. As Yahoo! reported, previous owners said the train would sometimes start on its own. And other owners since Ozzie’s death said they would sometimes find a kitchen drawer open beside the sink, presumably because his ghost wanted a bowl of ice cream in the middle of the night.

As a kid, I watched only for Ricky’s music video at end of the episodes. Those had to be the first music videos on TV.

Ozzie’s job was never mentioned.

Indeed.

I don’t remember the plot of a single episode, but I sure remember the songs at the end!

Great show but “hard working”? What the heck did Ozzie do all day? I don’t remember if he even had a job.

I was describing *my* father and mothe who were,in fact, hard working. However my hunch is that Ozzie did something respectable.I doubt tha he owned a house of prostitution, sold drugs, was in the mafia or was on welfare.

Maybe he got a disability check because of a crippling psychiatric disorder! ;-)

From the comments, I was expecting some sort of ghastly contemporary re-muddling but it’s actually very nice. Restrained. While I’m not a big fan of marble, the white marble with gray and black marbling sits very well with the original black and white octagonal tile in the baths. It’s a beautiful home, it was then, it is now. I’d be proud to own it if I were able.
