My Hubby sent me this in email:
Got an email from the Natl Repub Senate Comm. begging for money and supposedly authored by Mitch McWimpel In the fine print at the bottom it reads:
This email was sent by: Romney for President Inc., 138 Conant St., 1st Floor, Beverly, MA 01915.
So I decided to check it out. First I did a search on "Romney for President Inc., 138 Conant St., 1st Floor, Beverly, MA 01915."
I found all sorts of strange things. This is on a lefty forum:
Ted Cruz campaign@rickperry.org via smna.targetedvictory.com
For Liberty,
Ted Cruz
P.S. I'm proud to stand with Governor Rick Perry, and I hope you are, too. Please join in showing your support for him online using the hashtag #StandWithRickPerry.
This email was sent by: Romney for President Inc., 138 Conant St., 1st Floor, Beverly, MA 01915.
This message reflects the opinions and representations of Texans for Rick Perry, and is not an endorsement by Mitt Romney. You are receiving this email because you signed up as a member of Mitt Romney's online community on
And here: Mitt Romney Supports Gay Marriage. Except He Doesnt. But His Team Will Profit From It - Red State
What does this have to do with Mitt Romney? At the bottom of the email was this fine print:
This email was sent by: Romney for President Inc., 138 Conant St., 1st Floor, Beverly, MA 01915.This message reflects the opinions and representations of the American Unity Fund alone, and is not an endorsement by Mitt Romney. You are receiving this email because you signed up as a member of Mitt Romneys online community.
And this: Rick Perry And Right Wing Relationship Problems? - Right Wing Watch
This email was sent by: Romney for President Inc., 138 Conant St., 1st Floor, Beverly, MA 01915.
This message reflects the opinions and representations of RickPAC, Inc., and is not an endorsement by Mitt Romney. You are receiving this email because you signed up as a member of Mitt Romney's online community
So I found all sorts of emails sent from Romney for President Inc., 138 Conant St., 1st Floor, Beverly, MA 01915.
The search dug up this at the Red State link, Romney for President Inc., is run by The American Unity Fund : A couple of weeks ago a friend forwarded me an email from the American Unity Fund. The email, authored by AUF President Margaret Hoover
So I checked out American Unity Fund : American Unity Fund and found Margaret Hoover.
The mission of American Unity Fund, a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization, is freedom. We are dedicated to advancing the cause of freedom for gay and lesbian Americans by making the conservative case that freedom truly means freedom for everyone.
So apparently this PAC is using Romney's name and sending out letters from Conservatives and giving the impression that these Conservatives support homosexual rights.
Very deceptive!
Does anyone know anything else about either of them?
Obviously she’s a liberal but why are Rick Perry and Ted Cruz using her to send emails that say Romney for President at the bottom? Can they be unaware of who she is? I understand it’s probably their staff and not them directly but, just damn!, liberals have their dirty fingers in everything while hiding what they are.
Apparently, Romney is renting out his mailing list and his office space in Beverly as a direct mail operation for anyone with the cash to get his attention. Expect offers for reverse mortgages and you-can’t-be-turned-down life insurance soon.
She used to be on Fox News (barf!).
My Hubby never signed up for his mailing list. The poster on the lefty site didn’t either. Curious isn’t it.
You are probably on several mailing lists that Romney bought and consolidated and has resold. I get mountains of email from GOP candidates and causes that I never signed up for - some I never heard of before. They got that email address [which is a throwaway for just this purpose] from a newsletter signup or a candidate donation list which was resold.
I’d take what I read on that commie site with a grain of salt but it looks like Perry has allowed himself to fall into the clutches of the GOP’s professional consultant class, as represented by Steve Schmidt. This Hoover person seems to be one of that type. They will bleed Perry’s campaign of every last cent, enriching themselves further, and deliver him a whopping loss which they will then explain away as not their fault. That Perry can’t see this or does but is ok with it doesn’t redound to his credit as a conservative leader.
Hubby doesn’t sign up for political email nor does he donate to candidates online. He’s very careful with his main email addy. It was one of the reasons this email was so odd.
Unfortunately Cruz is also being “used” by them. His staff may want to take a better look at who they associate with.
ANY email I get gets dumped if it comes from anybody. Includes Joe Arpaio, Ted Cruz, etc. If you send money you have no idea where it came from. Dems? scamsters? Nigeria? Besides they will never quit after the first bite.
My problem with this is Margaret Hoover is obviously a lefty and is smearing Conservatives by association. They need to be more careful of who they associate with.
From post 2: "Currently a CNN political contributor, she serves as the Presidents of American Unity PAC which elects pro-LGBT Republicans to Congress and American Unity Fund which supports the work of pro-freedom Republicans nationally. She helped found "Young Conservatives for Freedom to Marry" "
Maggie H was, at one time, consistently on BOR’s Show on FNC. Haven’t seen her there in several years. And she seemed to be a ‘nice’ person....though not perfect; and yes, at that time it is remembered she was for gay rights, whatever that might mean.
Your Missing Support (Desperate GOP-E!)
And yeah, the "Romney for President, Inc." was at the bottom of each in fine print.
And it’s not even Romney, it’s Margaret Hoover using his name.
