Last night I saw something I had never encountered before: the launch of what I'm told were probably six large drones. They really made my mouth open with astonishment. They went up very fast then changed heading and rose into the clouds. Two minutes later they were joined on the same course by some fast movers which I could hear overhead but could not see due to high cloud.
Bearing in mind that "Loose lips sink ships" (which WWII-era warning not coincidentally we began to use again after 9/11/2001), I'm not sure how much to say here. But it's natural to wonder if this activity is routine, or is stepped up because the anniversary of 9/11 is coming up, or is an answer to something specific.
Of course some of our resident experts can privately tell me if what I thought I saw was something different. Please also advise if in your opinion this shouldn't be discussed and the thread should be pulled.
I should add that wherever they came from, I was nowhere near, and just saw them go up because I was out walking the dog late. Didn’t know what I was looking at because these large objects didn’t have normal aviation lights, so I texted someone with a description and he said I was probably looking at drones.
Being as the Obungler has radical Muzzies working for him, I am sure ISIS was aware of the flights, and their missions, long before you were. Our air strikes on ISIS might be more effective, but his Muzzies probably tell them how to avoid US strikes
Six large Drones ,,
bigger than a breadbox,,
or a school bus?
Just yell “UFO!”
What exactly did you see and hear? If you just saw lights, what color were they? Did they flash? How did you determine that the objects were large? Did they fly in exact formation?
Location?
Interesting but as i’m in Cape may thiw week an old guy its around 9:30 all the way down the end of the main town in which the beach runs east to west. He states there’s a drone there and he has seen several today. I said how do you know. He said the signature isn’t right. So i followed with: o the belly light is blinking different and he said yes and several other things. well i changed the subject as i was fascinated by the clear horizon and you could see shore lights almost due south. i had never seen shore lights due south on Cape May. SW but never almost due south. Now that i see this post about the drones flying, i think the guy was on to something. His son is JAG officer in GA.
I always thought drones were small, but the person I was consulting informed me that “some of them are f***ing huge.” He then sent me a photo of one that was indeed huge, though I not competent to determine if it’s size would in the strict technical sense be considered f***ing huge. What I saw was a large golden light rather than a normal aircraft with typical lights. They also rose very fast. I first noticed them as three flying abreast, while there more were launched one after another.
Could be something else, I dunno. But there is a lot of military aircraft around here and I have never seen anything like these.
what were the light signatures? some old guy in cape may said the same thing to me tonight.
Could you clarify what a light signature is?
Please see my post 9 for further description. Sorry I couldn’t see more detail.
I’m in Maryland, 30-35 miles NW of DC. These things rose in the east. They turned SE. I couldn’t say whether they came out of Dover or somewhere closer.
The second one looks like the Star Trek insignia.
Are they kidding?
A global hawk is roughly the same size as an F-16, with much more wingspan. Drones can be very small, but they don’t have to be.
That was their goal.
See here.
Cool, but what I saw was a large golden light. Not like several small sharp white lights seen in normal aviation.
Yup,,,
bigger than a school bus.
but Predators got Attitudes!
There might be something about it on Twitter. Unfortunately I don't have an account.
