I’ve heard it multiple times a day in muslim countries. It always makes me sick to my stomach. In one city, Dakka, most people inside buildings ignored it. Outside was a different story.
Not the most beautiful sound I’ve ever heard. Not by a long shot.

Daughter just moved from Istanbul. I just started saying the Lord’s Prayer when the guy started screeching. Never saw a person outside praying.

Muslims didn't have metal for BELLS to call people to worship, like they had in Europe. So, the human voice was used to call people to prayer.
NOW, the call to prayer is AMPLIFIED. Nothing new but the microphone and speakers.
