My daughter is learning that there may be a downside to grand-dad spending a lot of time with the kidz. But it makes my son-in-law laugh.
Just the other day, the elder grandson complained that his little sister kicked him in the back of the head...
I pulled him aside and said "They are dangerous, never turn your back on them" Grandson nodded, son-in-law stifled a laugh, and daughter growled.
Such is life. ;)

Is it ok to give a kitteh a taste of Philadelphia Smoked Salmon cream cheese? Anything in it that they aren’t supposed to have?

Umm..
Trying to get culinary lessons for free. CIA costs too much, and I don't want to drive to Hyde Park anyway.. ;-)

Hey kids, we’re going to make a fortune sending cat photos through the telegraph, if we can only figure out how to do it.

Throw out complaining customers. You won't want anyone writing reviews that doesn't like your food.
I didn't go to the CIA, anyway. It was a local academy, that didn't mind me carrying concealed in a room full of freaking sharp 8" knives.

I think Alexander Bain did that back in the 1840s... I could have the name and the date wrong.

Throw out complaining customers.I'd be in trouble right from the start. Shortly followed by some papers from a divorce lawyer..

More wisdom from culinary school, from my first instructor chef: "I don't know a chef that hasn't been divorced".
It's a rough career.

Thanks for posting this - I really enjoyed it!
There is just something wonderful about these old photos, whether from our own families, or just from somewhere else.
The history of American families (particularly, but also everyone else) is really very interesting, sometimes touching, and often inspirational, especially in the often graceless times we live in.
