I’ve often wondered why they don’t fight back in any way, and even properly face the camera. I assume the answer is they are afraid of unspeakable pain and torture, and obey.
I read somewhere that the terrorists give the victims some kind of anesthetic beforehand so that they don’t move around or do much else. IOW, they’re drugged.
