IIRC the average time a player will play in the nfl is only 4-5 years.

Hes not a long term planner. Is he going to be in the NFL forever? Probably a few years, maybe ten tops. He's a third string free agent. Even assuming he doesn't get injured the average career for a defensive lineman is 3.5 years. He'll be looking for a real job before then.
