FULL TITLE: Michael Sam was dropped by the NFL because 'no one wants the distraction', claims Buffalo Bills star as gay football player tweets upbeat message

Michael Sam is no longer attached to an NFL team and none of them appear to want to pick him up because his sexual orientation causes too much distraction, claims a Buffalo Bills star.

Offensive lineman Eric Wood goes on, more specifically, to blame the media for focusing on the personal life of the NFL's first openly gay draft pick.

'Blame that on espn,' Wood tweeted in response to Sam's inability to find an NFL home. 'No one wants the distraction.'

Wood's comment came after sports commentator Ross Tucker publicly wondered on Twitter why 'Michael Sam performed much better than most expected and still isn't even on a practice squad?'

I will simply state that the same media that mourns Michael Sam's being cut is the very same media that cheered Tim Tebow being cut from the New England Patriots.

Gay Loving Hyopcrits, the entire lot of 'em.

Because the Rams don’t want to be the butt of all the NFL jokes.

That position is held by the Chicago Bears and will be for the duration that Jay Cutler is their quarterback.

But hey, that guarantees the Green Bay Packers at least 2 wins per season for the next seven seasons!

I am after all, a displaced Green Bay Packers fan living in the Shitcago area.

Whatever, but when we “out of love” accept the lifestyle that the Bible refers to as an abomination, we are hurting children

Jesus warns us what could happen to us if we harm one of his little ones!

To accept this lifestyle in others is to tell children it`s a option for them, hence we are harming children.

True love would be to say NO to their lifestyle at every chance.

He should have kept his personal life to himself and played football. Nobody to blame but himself.

Dungy was right, no one wants a homo in the locker room. Especially when he’s sub par on the field. He’ll never work in this business again. There is no affirmative action for homos in the NFL, at least not yet. Flame away.

Any chance he gets a tv or other media gig? That would seem like the obvious place to go next. The media would love to have a guy like this, I’d think.

Wood should know better. Football fans and teams could care less about his personal life if he could help win games.

Well, dropping him is just gay.
He’s a fabulous player.
He’s all over the other team’s ass.
Sad that he’s being pushed out the back door.
I hope he overcomes this thing.

Maybe, just maybe, he couldn’t hack the level of play.

Yeah, that's what they said about Tim Tebow. Sam was dropped because he lacks the ability to play football at the pro level. If he had the talent then he could be whoever he wanted to be and be a major media distraction and he'd still be with the Rams

Ross Tucker publicly wondered on Twitter why 'Michael Sam performed much better than most expected and still isn't even on a practice squad?'

If memory serves Sam was saying after he was drafted that he should have gone in the first two or three rounds. I'd say that given his boasting he played nowhere near as well as he expected.

Who cares why he was cut? He was cut because he wasn’t worth a paycheck.

Even on the Rams Sam ended up behind an undrafted FA rookie who made a bigger impact. Sam is too small and weak to play DL and much too slow (4.92 40) to play linebacker. He’s just not cut out for the NFL.

No, because the Rams have probably the deepest defensive line in the NFL and Sam got outplayed (it wasn’t even close) by an undrafted free agent named Westbrooks. Westbrooks can play both DE and DT, and tore it up in camp and preseason games.

Yes they do, and yes Westbrooks did. It's too bad Bradford got wrecked. Even still, The Rams got hope !
