What a great venue......
The guy is fantastic - no doubt it’s being filmed for future enjoyment.
I went to college in upstate NY. This guy used to play at a (fairly large) bar across from school. He was 13 yo at the time. We always got word, and rushed to pack the bar a few hours before showtime. He could not sing well at that time, but if you closed your eyes you could believe that it was Jimi Hendrix or Stevie Ray Vaughn up there. Yup.
My son and a couple of his buddies are there.
This is anew artist to me. Thanks for the intro. I’m having a good time going through videos now.
I got to see Joe Bonamassa in concert in my town during this past year. I had seen his concert DVD’s before, but this guy is absolutely incredible live. The first half of his show was focused more on country and bluegrass, with lots of help from a talented band. The second half was him cutting loose on his incredible electric blues style. If you like guitar instrumental music, you won’t be disappointed if you catch Joe B. in concert. It will be memorable.
I've been a huge fan of Joe Bonamassa since I first stumbled onto him back in early 2011. Finding a real-life super talented & semi-known artist like JB, vs. the no-talent gimmicky swill the music industry pushes, has really tuned me back into the music scene since then. I've got all Joe's CDs and most of his live DVDs. His huge catalog of material is probably what I listen to about half the time now :).
I've already pre-ordered his new "Different Shades of Blue" CD coming out toward the end of September. At one point a few days ago it was #8 on the overall Amazon CD best seller list (for a Blues & Blues/Rock artist!), and that was just with pre-orders. It's been #1 on the Blues list for a while now.
I’ve been a big fan since I saw him on PBS a couple of years ago. I have most of his DVD’s and CD’s. I’m finally going to see him play at Constitution Hall in DC in November. It’s good to see he is getting the notoriety he deserves as his marketing is mostly his... I think. Pure talent and a guitar virtuoso.
Some of you are as bad as me! I’ve got ALL his CD’s and DVD’s and of course have the new studio CD pre-ordered. I got to see him live in Spokane on March 25th. That was a hoot! I’m 62 and I was one of the young ones there. Now I can die happy ;-)
I first heard him playing on the Bob and Tom radio show in 2007 when I was driving home from a night shift at the ER in Pocatello. I hadn’t heard anyone play a guitar like that since Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes live at Silverbell Ski Lodge in Michigan in 1970.
I read on his website forum tonight that the Red Rocks concert will be available on Blu-ray. I was disappointed that it is not streaming live on Palladia or AXS.
He’s a musician of great talent who is unique because he is humble and loves his fans as much as they love him. I heard an interview he gave in which he stated that he drives his girlfriend nuts because his idea of fun is staying home at night to re-tube a guitar amp.
Joe! You da MAN!
