.
Agree about Mortenson. His persona isn't a (superior) Tom Cruise type, rather just a "normal guy" getting through life.
Even when crowned king, he still looked relatively humble.

Paul McCartney would have played Frodo, Ringo Starr would have been Sam, and George Harrison would have portrayed Gandalf. And Yoko would have been the terrifying screech of the nazgul.

I think those characteristics are the director’s fault rather than the actor’s.

Sean Bean was a good Boromir, but is wiry enough for Aragorn. Mortgenson is an obsessive artist type. You should read how he got into the part. My favorite of all for perfect casting- Karl Urban as Eomer. Took a bit to get into him playing Bones on Star Trek (movie), but he did ok with the voice.

Yes, I think Eomer was extremely good. I still think Sean Bean would have been okay as Aragorn. He’s a very experienced actor who’s been successful in a variety of roles. Whether he (or anyone) would have been better than Mortenson, nobody can say, since it wasn’t done that way.

Daniel Day-Lewis has the jaw for it.I think Daniel-Day Lewis would have made a very interesting Aragorn.

Yes, I think Eomer was extremely good. I still think Sean Bean would have been okay as Aragorn But, Aragorn doesn't die in this movie, so he couldn't have been played by Sean Bean.
To: LibertarianLiz
He never died as Lt. Sharpe, either.

I thought Mortensen was ok, but his thin reedy voice was ineffectual during the Crispin-Day-type moments near the end of the third film. I think Sean Bean would have been better cast, but I can live with the cast as is.
